Listen up, and listen good—because I'm only saying this once! Two Tricks doesn't work with MC gangs. Period. End of story. And no, you don't get to ask why. Tricks runs the West Coast smuggling ring, and if you want anything to come and go, you play by his rules. Don't like it? Then you're going to...

What a fun read! Elizabeth Knight's Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1) is the perfect why choose romance with a fun twist in the end. Expect hot motorcycle boys and a badass FMC in this captivating novel. Immediately starting book 2!

4.5 stars. I'm reserving final judgment, but so far, I'm absolutely loving everything about Elizabeth Knight's new Hidden Empire series, and Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1) is a thrilling start! For fantasy romance book reviews, this one really delivers. My absolute favorite type of FMC (female main character) is a badass psycho killer, and Dax is *chef's kiss* perfect. Then, all the guys are distinct but perfectly suited for her. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this story unfolds.

It had a cliché plot and cheesy AF dialogue, and the 'big reveal' was painfully obvious from page one. STILL, the way I’m considering picking up book two of **Elizabeth Knight's Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1)**...?! What is wrong with me?**Two Tricks** follows Dax and the Phantom Saints MC. Dax is the enforcer for the Hidden Empire gang, and the MC is looking for her boss to ask for his help to take out their rivals (or something like that?). They decide to kidnap Dax to convince her to set up an...

Pages: 242My rating: 4.5I got this book recommended by a Goodreads friend of mine and #cakeeater. Thanks for this, S. It’s a great book! This is not a typical Motorcycle Club book. While there is an MC in this story, the female main character (FMC) is not a member and refuses to join because she despises MCs. I love Dax, the FMC, because she is a strong, tough woman. She had a rough childhood in foster care. She's involved in both legal and illegal businesses and always has her best friend Weston...

So good!! I didn't want it to end. Can't wait for the next one! This *Two Tricks* book review will tell you why. Okay, what can I say about this book? Elizabeth Knight's *Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1)* is a little dark, as there's kidnapping, hostage situations, and gangs involved, but it isn't as dark as I initially thought it would be. It's a little gritty; the protagonist has a dark past and doesn't believe in love. While the guys are a little rough with her at times, they are also incredib...

Okay, what? No. NO. I don't know how everyone else missed this in Elizabeth Knight's *Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1)*, but do the words STOCKHOLM SYNDROME mean anything to anyone?? So this 'miniature badass' gets kidnapped, and what does she decide to do? Instead of something productive like killing them all and escaping, she has sex with the leader. Not in a 'I'll get him to let his guard down and escape' way, but in a 'I was so overcome by the sex appeal of my KIDNAPPER' way. Like, what? THEY K...

Annoying AF heroine; unlikable alphasMy foray into Elizabeth Knight's 'Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1)' was, unfortunately, a frustrating one. This dark romance review details why I had to DNF (Did Not Finish) at Chapter 21.I'm sorry. I tried. I had to DNF at Chapter 21. Dax, the heroine in 'Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1)', is one of the most annoying characters I've read. There's a very fine line between a truly badass woman and a Mary Sue, and Dax isn't badass; she is reckless, arrogant, and imma...

**Don't know why it has such good reviews**The high reviews convinced me to give **Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1)** a try, but I should have known better. I didn't really like anything about it, and I only made it halfway through before giving up. The main character was lame; she lost battle after battle with these guys, whether it was physical, emotional, or mental. Also, her 'punch first' attitude was a bit much. I like my heroines to fight just as much with their brains as their brawn. I didn'...

Elizabeth Knight, I bow down to you! This book, Two Tricks (Hidden Empire #1), is absolutely brilliant! From its action-packed goodness to the sexy, dangerous men and the fantastically badass woman that is Dax...there was so much to love about this romantic suspense novel! Elizabeth Knight has completely outdone herself with Two Tricks. It was a wild, action-packed ride, unlike anything she's written before. This novel is completely original and unique. It takes so many of the elements I love ...

Loved this book, Two Tricks by Elizabeth Knight! The dynamic mix between the main character and the elements of the hidden empire created a truly great juxtaposition. I can't wait for the next installment in this thrilling fantasy series!
