"We were perfect together. Until we met." Misha smiles at the words in Ryen’s letter. She misses him. It started in fifth grade when their teachers set them up as pen pals. A simple mistake led to years of connection, debate, and unspoken reliance. Ryen’s letters, always on black paper with silver i...

I rarely rate books below 3 stars, so please bear with me. I genuinely don't understand why "Punk 57" by Penelope Douglas gets so much hype. I need to bleach my brain and erase all memory of ever reading this book. Seriously, thanks for nothing.

Can I get a refund? Honestly, that's how I felt after finishing Penelope Douglas's *Punk 57*. I went into this book with such high expectations, and it just completely missed the mark for me. Maybe it's just me, but the whole thing felt forced and, dare I say, a little cliché. Not the edgy, angsty read I was hoping for, and definitely not one I'd recommend if you're looking for a truly captivating book. Disappointing, to say the least. Looking for better YA book reviews? Keep searching, because ...

This reads like a poorly written Wattpad story, and I honestly don’t understand the hype at all. Two stars, and those are *only* for the smut. If you're looking for good romance novels, this isn't it. Check out other book reviews before diving into "Punk 57" by Penelope Douglas.

Listen loud and clear, you stupid cunt. I’m done talking to you, and I’m done looking at you. I don’t think I'm really that much of a romantic person but I do know one thing for sure. When they created the word "romantic" ^THIS is not what they meant. I mean, really? stupid cunt ? And you're telling me the protagonist fell for the guy who calls her stupid every chance he gets. You know what? Maybe he is right. If any girl simps over a guy who continuously reminds her what a brainle...

Eventually we all have to weigh what we want more: wanting back what we had or wanting what could be.The GoodLet's start with this: *Punk 57* completely wrecked me. It was one of those stay-up-til-2-but-wait-please-don't-end kind of reads. There was so much that I loved about it, and I’m sure this review isn't going to be entirely objective, but bear with me.This book, *Punk 57* by Penelope Douglas, is about the difference between being accepted by the “acceptable” people in your life/school/soc...

4 StarsI haven't been in a reviewing mood lately.I've had a lot going on at home and at work... plus, I think I have an ear infection that I've been mistaking for a headache or something for a while now. For some reason – I blame the blonde – I had it in my head that only kids got ear infections. Seeing as I had ear infections frequently as a kid – and had tubes in my ear twice – you'd think this would have occurred to me sooner. Oh well. Maybe I'll get some cool drugs. Happy Thanksgiving to m...

Seriously, at what point was I supposed to start swooning over this romance? Was it when he called her a cunt, or maybe when he threatened her with scissors to the throat? I'm struggling to find the appeal of Penelope Douglas's Punk 57. Honestly, this book is just... baffling. If you're looking for a dark romance book review that pulls no punches, here it is: hard pass. Steer clear of Punk 57 if you value your brain cells.

The torture is finally over. It all started when I needed a quick ebook to read during my commute to and from work (hardcovers aren't really public transport-friendly). I didn't realize Penelope Douglas was the same author of *Bully* until today, otherwise I wouldn't have picked this up at all. I was tempted to DNF it SO MANY TIMES, but I decided to finish it so I could write a proper review because I feel like someone needs to speak up about everything that's wrong with *Punk 57*. I can't belie...
