Seriously obsessed with how "Unearthly" by Cynthia Hand made me feel. This YA paranormal romance came out in 2011, and it *still* hits hard over a decade later! If you're looking for an amazing paranormal romance book review, look no further.

Clara is 16 and lives with her mother and brother in California. What’s special about her family is that Clara’s mother is half-angel, meaning angel blood flows through Clara’s veins, too. Every angel has a task to fulfill, and Clara’s task reveals itself in her visions, leading the family to Wyoming. * My Opinion * "Unearthly" is definitely an interesting book and an easy, fluid read. Cynthia Hand's writing style is very simple and uncomplicated. It's fun to accompany Clara on her journey and fo...

“I'm looking at you. Why are you always trying to hide how pretty you are?” I've been mulling over my rating for *Unearthly* for a solid two hours now, and it's been teetering precariously between 1 and 2 stars ever since I finished it. I know, I know, you're probably ready to come at me for only giving Cynthia Hand's *Unearthly* two stars. How dare I, right? Just hear me out, and if you're still not convinced, you can slap me across the face as hard as you want. Seriously, I'll let you. “...

Rating: 2.5 Stars Okay, full disclosure: I'm writing this review from inside a pillow fort. Yes, a fort. I need protection from the inevitable backlash for daring to *highly* dislike this book. Never mind that my fort's made of pillows and contains highly flammable books – the point is, I have a fort! So please, don't attack me... I have a fort!Part 1: In Which I "Get It"I get it. Seriously, I do. I *get* the hype around **Unearthly** by Cynthia Hand. I *get* why so many people love it. *Unearth...

Sigh. I like Tucker and his cowboy hat. For some reason, while reading "Unearthly" by Cynthia Hand, I kept picturing Kevin Bacon back in his *Footloose* days. It's a fun paranormal romance read, if that's your thing!

I always feel a little bad when I disagree with the majority about a book, like there must be something I'm missing or I obviously didn't 'get' it. I do understand why a lot of people enjoyed *Unearthly* and there were parts I liked too... but I still wasn't blown away. As far as young adult stories about angels go, this is probably one of the best – only, that's not really saying much. I found the book okay in many ways. I don't have a huge rant to make about girls who are obsessed with boys ov...

It's been a few months since I finished this book, and I'm still swooning. You shall be read again soon, my precioussssss...Actual rating: Teetering on 4.5 starsHush, Hush, who? Halo, what? Fallen, huh? After reading the catastrophe that was Hush, Hush, I had pretty much given up on reading any more books involving angels. As far as I was concerned, it would be my first and last angel book. I resisted the urge (mostly thanks to my dear Goodreads friend's reviews) to pick up Halo and Fallen, even ...

4.5 out of 5 stars Finally, a well-written angel series! Clara's physical appearance, the wings, the flying, the "glory"—they make angels sound impossibly beautiful. The descriptions are so well done that you can really picture and feel what it would be like to be in the presence of one. The supernatural aspects are well-balanced by a solid grounding in Clara's day-to-day life as a teenager, with excellent descriptions of school projects, relationships with her friends and her brother, and espec...

Honestly, after reading books like Hush, Hush, Halo, and Fallen, do you really believe there's a *good* paranormal YA romance about angels out there? A book about proms, love triangles, and hot boys that *doesn't* make you want to hurl? No? Me neither, before I read Unearthly.I was genuinely impressed by this novel. I was skeptical, not trusting the positive reviews, but it ended up exceeding my expectations. Not once did this book make me roll my eyes – something I fully expect when I pick up a...
