An epic sequel! After her twin brother, Carter, dies from cancer, Chloe is in a very dark place. She's hurting deeply and has even attempted suicide. She would have succeeded if her dad, King Jack, hadn’t saved her. Then there's Jack’s best friend, David, who's battling alcoholism caused by anxiety and nightmares from a battle years ago. His wife left him over a decade ago, taking their baby son. But now Lenila wants to see him, so he sets off on a journey to see her and his son for the first time...

I really appreciated how the goddaughter and godfather relationship was portrayed. Seeing David's perspective as they went to visit his wife added so much depth. His struggles felt authentic, and I was relieved that the story didn't fall into the tired trope of "all alcoholics are violent." Julie Mannino really handled a sensitive topic with care in "Chloe's Calling (Jack's Reign, #2)". Definitely a good read, and worth checking out if you're looking for honest book reviews.

An Interesting ReadI really connected with Chloe. This isn’t a genre I usually pick up, but I was drawn into the world and the story Julie Mannino created. The characters are fantastic. David had me worried for a bit there, but I’m glad things worked out for him in "Chloe's Calling (Jack's Reign, #2)". Chloe’s backstory was heartbreaking, and I was rooting for her to find her purpose and break free from the darkness. I also really enjoyed the little quotes and sayings at the beginning of each ch...

A wonderfully immersive fantasyI absolutely loved this book! *Chloe's Calling (Jack's Reign, #2)* is the second book in the *Jack's Reign* series by Julie Mannino. I haven't read the first one yet, but honestly, it works perfectly as a standalone novel. You don't miss a thing. The story centers on King Jack's daughter, Chloe, who is devastated by the death of her twin brother from cancer. Overwhelmed by grief, she tries to take her own life, hoping to be reunited with him. A glimmer of hope appe...

Wow!This book is so well-detailed, it's like watching a movie unfold. I'm always honest with my ratings, and "Chloe's Calling (Jack's Reign, #2)" definitely earns five stars. The characters are vivid and have distinct personalities. Chloe is incredibly brave.I connected with her character the most; she's so strong.Initially, I thought the story would solely focus on her journey with David to see a medium while David visits his wife. But then, war breaks out!"Chloe's Calling (Jack's Reign, #2)" is ...

This was an absolutely amazing and refreshing fantasy read! *Chloe's Calling* (Jack's Reign, #2) by Julie Mannino picks up several years after the first book, and we find Chloe, still reeling from the loss of her twin, running away from home to join her Godfather, David. It was tough to see David struggling with alcoholism, especially since I liked him so much in the first book, but the war really changed him. We finally get to see things from his perspective, which adds a lot of depth. Overall...

This is a seriously credible, action-packed fantasy novel. I've only recently gotten into reading fantasy. While I find most to be overly descriptive, *Chloe's Calling* was clearly written with emotions that really got to me. As someone who recently lost a grandma, I could easily relate to Chloe's pain. I'm hoping to order a hard copy soon. Julie Mannino has crafted something truly special here. If you're looking for a great fantasy book review, look no further than *Chloe's Calling*!

Chloe's Calling is a fun, action-packed fantasy novel centered on Chloe and her family/friends. It begins like your typical fantasy novel, with a somewhat naive character about to ditch her sheltered life for an adventure. But the similarities end there, quickly transforming into a high-stakes political drama between warring tribes and age-old enemies. It's important to remember that this isn't a totally brand-new fantasy world the author dreamed up, but a fantasy take on an alternate history. A...
