This duology has been such a delightful surprise. Honestly, I wasn't expecting to fall so hard for this story, this world, this magic system, and these characters. But this is genuinely a well-rounded series, with each book feeling like two beautifully crafted halves. This final installment has everything I loved about *One Dark Window*, but it builds on it in a way that makes the magic feel richer, the mission/quest feel more immersive, and the characters and relationships feel deeper. If you'r...

Wow. This sequel took everything that was good about the first book and amplified it tenfold. I'll be thanking the Trees every single day for blessing us with Elm. There was so much HEART poured into these pages, and while I'm sad to leave the world of Blunder behind, that ending was absolutely perfect. After reading "Two Twisted Crowns: A Shepherd King Novel" by Rachel Gillig, I'm ready to devour anything she writes. Definitely a top-tier fantasy book review from me!

I really wish this duology had been longer – I wanted so much more! I thought Rachel Gillig tied up all the loose ends perfectly in *Two Twisted Crowns: A Shepherd King Novel*. If you're new to fantasy books like I am, this series is a great place to start! Need more fantasy recommendations like this one!

5 stars!\"The two were together, so the two were the same. The girl, the King, and the monster they became.”Now, *this* is how you write a sequel! To say I'm not ready to say goodbye to the unique magical world of this duology and its characters is a massive understatement. \"Two Twisted Crowns: A Shepherd King Novel\" is the final book in The Shepherd King series by Rachel Gillig. It's told from three perspectives—Ravyn, Elm, and Elspeth—and I devoured every chapter. The two storylines are easy...

I absolutely devoured *Two Twisted Crowns: A Shepherd King Novel*! Rachel Gillig, you've written a sequel that's just *chef's kiss*. This book was so damn good, I feel like I need to stare directly into the sun! My teeth are practically grinding to dust because this book delivered *everything*. More points of view, romance, action, drama, tension, suspense, incredible world-building, sassy dead kings, questionable hygiene (lol), characters getting absolutely wrecked, and a plot that grabbed my a...

4.5 stars! This book has made me realize I haven't been reading *good* fantasy, LOL. This was QUALITY fantasy. The characters, the world-building, the storyline?!? Absolutely top-tier.
Rachel Gillig was so smart to focus on Elm more in *Two Twisted Crowns: A Shepherd King Novel*. I didn’t even know I wanted that until I read a few chapters from his perspective, and I was like, “OH MY GOD, PLEASE DON’T LET THIS STOP!” If you're looking for a captivating fantasy book review, look no further!

\n Five hundred years ago, a boy wore a crown—had every abundance in the world—but always asked for MORE.\n 2 stars ⭐️Ugh, what a massive letdown. I was so close to giving up on this one. The main issue is that there are three POVs: Ravyn, Elspeth, and Elm. The problem is that one of the three doesn’t seem to belong in the book. Ravyn’s and Elspeth’s POVs were definitely connected, but Elm’s POV?? It felt like a whole new story, totally disconnected from the search for the Twin Alders card and ...

"For even dead, I will not die. I am the shepherd of shadow. The phantom of the fright. The demon in the daydream. The nightmare in the night."
Well, *Two Twisted Crowns: A Shepherd King Novel* had a lot of ups and downs for me, but unfortunately, I think the downs won out. Maybe it was a combination of really high expectations because I loved *One Dark Window* so much, and I had built this sequel up so much in my head, but I was left really disappointed with how the story played out. As a bo...

Ladies and gentlemen, THIS is how you write a sequel:
You make me care about the secondary characters so much that when I pick up a sequel and half the chapters follow them, I become excited.
You give me a new romance plot involving them, instead of creating unnecessary conflict between the couple we followed during the first book, and instead give them something important to do, now that we've already established they're in love, not questioning it again but not leaving us (me, really) witho...
