An interesting historical essay disguised as a science fiction book. Perfect for anyone who wants to get into the non-fiction genre, and for those who love time travel. Ideal for people who want to travel, or can't. If you're looking for insightful book reviews on time-bending adventures, James Wyllie's "The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments" might just be your next great read.

Actual rating: 3.5 starsThis was pretty cool! I really dug the concept, and the execution was pretty well done.My main gripe with *The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments* by James Wyllie is that it often throws details at you without really diving deep into any of them, especially when it comes to names. Like, you can list all the important people who were at an event, but it doesn't mean much if you don't explain why I should care they were there! It needed more con...

Imagine touring with a travel company, but instead of just visiting places, you're hopping through time! That's the experience of reading James Wyllie's *The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments*. The book equips you with the outfits and advice needed to witness history-defining events like Woodstock '69, the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Don't worry, every trip is carefully planned. This handbook ...

Utterly delightful. The conceit of this being a travel brochure aimed at time travelers really works, especially with the glossy, magazine-style paper they used. I wasn't keen on every single tour they mentioned, but let's be honest, do you ever love *every* option in a regular cruise or tour brochure? There are some fantastic history trips detailed here, and I honestly wish I could go on one or two myself. Sadly, I'll have to experience them vicariously through this handbook some future time-ho...

Presented in the style of a travel brochure and guidebook, this description of various historical events is, for the most part, a highly successful work of history. James Wyllie's *The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments* offers a unique perspective, feeling less like a textbook and more like an invitation to explore the past. If you're looking for engaging history books, this one is definitely worth checking out. It's a fun and informative read for anyone interested ...

An intriguing book written as a time-traveler's guide to various periods in history where significant events occurred. It's packed with fascinating details: what to eat, how to dress, and which places to avoid. You get to read about the flow of events starting a few days before the key moment. There are 14 fascinating historical periods 'time-traveled' in this way. I thoroughly enjoyed reading *The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments* by James Wyllie and learned quite...

Okay, *The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments* by James Wyllie was a surprisingly enjoyable read. I usually don't get along with books that don't have a specific story or action driving them, and I tend to avoid them because they drag out the reading process. But even though it took me a while to get through, I really loved this one. It definitely lives up to being a handbook; it's packed with all sorts of information, and thanks to James Wyllie, I realized I can act...

Three stars, and I'm being generous. It didn't entirely win me over, even though the concept is genuinely charming. Some of the journeys are truly fascinating, while others left me completely cold. If you're looking for compelling history books to read, I'm not sure "The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments" by James Wyllie is the best choice.

My son gave me "The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments" as a gift, and I have to say, he nailed it. It's a fantastic blend of fantasy and fact. James Wyllie and the other authors take well-known historical events, exhibits, voyages, and incidents and drop you right in the middle of them, at the exact moment, on the spot, in that era. As a time traveler, you're strongly advised NOT to mess with the space-time continuum, but rather to observe and follow the detailed in...

James Wyllie's *The Time Traveler's Handbook: Experience History's Greatest Moments* is like a historical record of different events that happened across many years. At first, I thought they were small fictional stories set in various eras, but instead, they are real episodes that happened in periods before our own.It ranges from "The Eruption of Vesuvius: August 23-25, 79 AD - The Execution of Charles I: January 30, 1649 - The Opening Night at Shakespeare's Globe: June 11-12, 1599 - The Great E...
