Before I took pen to paper, I was an actress. I attended a local university majoring in theatre and spent a summer in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts where I learned about the “Old Bard” from amazingly talented teachers. When I returned from London, I relocated to Chicago where I lived for five years. There...

This book, The Mermaid's Kiss by Ellen Schreiber, is primarily about teen love.
At some point, I might have found it a cute story, but honestly, when I read it, I kind of skimmed through it. So, as a book review, I have to say it didn't quite work out for me.

What to say about The Mermaid's Kiss. I've read the entire Vampire Kisses series, the Full Moon trilogy, and all the Blood Relatives and Graveyard Games manga books. I've enjoyed them all. Comparatively, The Mermaid's Kiss was alright, but it left me a bit disappointed, especially considering the other stories Ellen Schreiber has published that I've read. I've always loved mermaids, ever since I was small. This story doesn't feel very original to me. It just doesn't stand out. It's not a bad sto...

The Mermaid's Kiss by Ellen Schreiber is a short and cute read. It's a fun pick for a bit of relaxation, but you may find yourself a little disappointed if you’re looking to truly immerse yourself in the world of the story instead of just being an onlooker. In that regard, it feels a bit shallow. Overall, for those seeking a quick, gentle read, this mermaid fantasy novel is a good choice for a younger audience or anyone in the mood for a bubbly tale.

It's dumb, it's chock full of clichés, and there are a few jokes that feel a bit out of place reading it in 2018... and despite all that, I absolutely love it. Ellen Schreiber's *The Mermaid's Kiss* knows exactly what it is. It playfully pokes fun at teen comedies, mermaid clichés, and everything in between. The writing is snappy, and the characters are constantly quipping. Spencer is incredibly dense at times, but honestly, that's part of the fun. Lilly is comically naive. It's essentially a te...

As much as I love and can handle Ellen Schreiber's writing and silliness, *The Mermaid's Kiss* was way too cringy for me. This book felt so cartoony and targeted for a much younger audience.

This is a cute little mermaid-inspired story, and I enjoyed *The Mermaid's Kiss* by Ellen Schreiber. It's a charming read for fans of mermaid books.

It’s the sign of a true retelling fanatic when you pull up a book like The Mermaid's Kiss that you haven’t read for over ten years just because you’re curious how it holds up. It’s probably the sign of a fanatic that I even still have this book after long outgrowing it. I blame nostalgia. It came from the good old elementary school Scholastic days, when shiny new paperbacks were delivered to you at the end of a class day in a sealed plastic bag; those days were kind of magical. Or it could just ...

This was absolutely adorable! I only wish there was more! It was such a quick and easy read. I totally recommend *The Mermaid's Kiss* by Ellen Schreiber if you're looking for a quick and easy mermaid read. It's definitely geared towards a younger audience, as both of the main characters are 15. If you can get past the younger age of the protagonists, then this is such a charming and cute read.

I absolutely loved The Mermaid's Kiss by Ellen Schreiber. Everything about it, really! Even though it's on the shorter side, it's definitely worth reading. I've re-read it so many times. I just love revisiting the story because you get to see the whole narrative unfold, again and again. It never gets old for me. I read it as a paperback, despite what the edition might suggest. It feels like such an old friend of a book to me. The cover is a little ripped, and many pages are dog-eared. For me, th...

This is one of those books I just stumbled upon at my local library. Ellen Schreiber is an author I’ve been meaning to read, but with my TBR pile at least a mile long, her books have a tendency to get constantly pushed back. However, I was feeling in the mood for a fairy tale, so I finally decided to give The Mermaid's Kiss a try.Teenage Mermaid is pretty much what I thought it would be. The plot of The Mermaid's Kiss focuses on Waterlilly (the mermaid) and Spencer (the Earthee) who happen to me...
