John A. Heldt's *The Memory Tree: A Carson Family Chronicle* is a captivating sequel to *River Rising*, the first book in the Carson Chronicles series. Just like the first part of this series, and the others I've read by the author, this book was equally interesting, entertaining, and emotional. It's rich with American history, offering a glimpse into World War I and the culture of a bygone era. This installment was particularly good because it included a twist I genuinely didn't see coming. As ...

The five Carson siblings, plus their new sister-in-law Bridget, have just stepped through a time portal from 1889 into 1918. They're still playing a game of Marco Polo through time, trying to find their parents, Tim and Caroline, who've taken a detour on their time-travel adventure. This time, they're hoping to catch their parents as they visit their ancestors. Adam and his pregnant wife Bridget settle into a cabin in the backwoods of Minnesota, neighbors to two women set to marry into their fam...

I'm still on the fence with this one. The jury's definitely still out! Ultimately, it did make me want to pick up the next book in the series. I had a couple of minor issues (Greg comes across as a bit too much of a playboy, and there were a few historical inaccuracies). But overall, it was a good story! Full review of "The Memory Tree: A Carson Family Chronicle" by John A. Heldt to come soon. Looking for engaging historical fiction? Stay tuned!

I've been reading John A. Heldt's books for ages. I keep coming back because I love how he weaves historical events, both big and small, into his stories. It's like time travel through history, and I'm totally here for it. He's a master at researching events and making them feel so real. There's a nice sense of continuity across all his books when it comes to the time travel thing, which I appreciate.

Eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
The suspense was almost unbearable at times, and the ending? Even worse! Having devoured most, if not all, of John A. Heldt's other books, I can hardly wait for the next installment of *The Memory Tree: A Carson Family Chronicle*. This one's a real page-turner, perfect for fans of historical fiction and family sagas. Looking forward to the next book review I can write about John A. Heldt!

John A. Heldt, the author, kindly provided me with an e-copy of *The Memory Tree: A Carson Family Chronicle*, the second book in the Carson Chronicles. I've had the pleasure of reading all of Mr. Heldt's books up to this point. I've given five stars to each one on the sites that require them – that's 70 stars! (I wonder where he keeps them all.) *The Memory Tree: A Carson Family Chronicle* continues his run of fantastic books. I've witnessed his growth as an author, and he continues to raise the...
