HOLY SHIT THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!
I LOVED IT! PLRGMJTNSSZFWKOFLFODJDJFKMF!!! I loved them all—Rune, Brand, Addam, Max & Quinn—and OMG, there were places in "The Hanged Man (The Tarot Sequence, #2)" by K.D. Edwards where the hair on my arms was literally standing straight up!
WHEN'S THE NEXT BOOK???? This is hands down one of the best fantasy book reviews I've ever written!

You CANNOT be told to read "The Hanged Man" by K.D. Edwards. It's a book you just have to pick up when you're ready. 😎 No amount of me telling you how good "The Hanged Man" is should be the reason you start reading, but just know that once you do, and you get past the confusion and overwhelming parts of book 1...
This series will have you in a CHOKEHOLD, and abso-fucking-lutely GAGGING, like the thirsty readers we all are, ready to sacrifice your soul and your firstborn for even a crumb of ai...

Rune and Brand have rewired my entire brain; I'm genuinely not okay. Their platonic soulmate dynamic is just *chef's kiss*.K.D. Edwards' pen was absolutely scorching when he wrote this:““You must not consider me so fragile. I can handle such truths. For instance, I know that I will never be the love of your life.”I froze. Turned. Stared at him.He smiled at me, a little sadly. “What you share with Brand? I could spend a lifetime chasing it, and it will always be decades out of my reach.”I AM SPEE...

**** 3.5 stars ****I liked this more than the first book, as I'd hoped. The characters are what brought me back to give the series a second chance, and they're what will keep me reading, despite how the problematic worldbuilding sometimes makes me want to tear my hair out. When I say the characters, I really mean Rune and Brand. The other characters, I can take or leave. And there were waaaaaay too many children in this book for my taste. But Rune, the first person narrator, is a trip. And Brand ...

Upping my rating to 5 stars because I'm still completely obsessed, and I need the third book like, yesterday. These characters are everything! 4.5 stars.I can't believe that just 10 days ago, I hadn't even heard of this series, and now I'm screaming into a pillow because I have to *wait* to see these characters again!I can picture myself back then (yes, it sounds dramatic when talking about 10 days ago), at the start of a reading slump, scrolling through my Kindle, which had about 20 new, unread...

WOW!!!! I could probably rave about 'The Last Sun' and 'The Hanged Man' for ages, that's how much I adored these books. Seriously! These books have kicked off this series with one *heck* of a good start. They're bursting with snark, humor, action, and so many incredible characters... Rune and Brand are fantastic, but there are tons of amazing supporting characters that I absolutely fell for. While I definitely have my go-to audiobook narrators, I'm always open to discovering new ones, and Josh Hur...

Reread review April 2022:Holy crap, has it really been 2.5 years since this came out? Where has the time gone? 🙈 (I guess Covid, insurrections, rampant inflation, and the war in Ukraine have kept us all distracted. I don't need these many distractions, Life. Just saying.) ☹️Really glad I got to reread these before book 3 comes out next month. I'm getting more and more worried about this big secret Rune is hiding, even from Brand. Or maybe *especially* from Brand. 😬 And I still don't trust The ...

ARC received in exchange for an honest review. Additionally, this review includes no spoilers for The Last Sun.After finishing, I had precisely one word: Wow. That's it. That's the review. Pack up, go home, we're done.Seriously though, if the first book, The Last Sun, was pretty good, this one makes me want to read everything K.D. Edwards puts out. The pacing is great, but the characters are perfect, and this book gave me all the feels. It's a perfect blend of action and character development, o...

The cover of *The Hanged Man* shows Rune dangling—hanging—upside down. But if you look at it another way, it could almost be Rune reflected in still water, which is fitting because, in many ways, this book is the inverse reflection of the one that came before it.
Whereas *The Last Sun* was a mostly light read punctured by occasional darkness, *The Hanged Man* is an extremely dark book with only brief moments of lightness to offer relief. Brand, noting that shit must be real now because the Towe...

Hey K.D.? Sequel Syndrome just called. It wants you to send some pillows and blankets to the titanium coffin you just buried it in.
Clearly *The Hanged Man* is the product of a mortal man making deals with a high demon, because it has no business--*none whatsoever*--being this damn good. Disgusting, paradoxical levels of good.
I mean, we've seen New Atlantis before, we know these characters, so the honeymoon glow should have worn off at least a little, because that's how sequels tend to go. Th...
