This book blends a lot of different elements: a well-off family with a step-father, a mother, and her son, Logan. It's a Christmas story that features a visit from an angel – though not your typical angel in white robes with wings. There's also a journey back in time to just before Jesus' birth, a man grieving his wife who died the previous Christmas, and another man who is essentially an atheist-terrorist, opposed to religion, or at least Christianity.
While this probably won't resonate with t...

This is such a beautiful novel. Heart-warming, moving, and with just a touch of the supernatural. An excellent book to kick off your Christmas reading season! If you're looking for heartwarming Christmas novels, look no further.

Every now and then, I really enjoy a good time travel story. And I enjoyed this one as much as any I've ever read. *The Boy Who Cried Christmas* by Dennis Bailey is about a spoiled nine-year-old boy named Logan who's eagerly anticipating a mountain of Christmas gifts from his wealthy stepfather, who gives him everything except his time. While Christmas shopping with his mother at the mall, Logan is approached by a poor, hungry veteran who asks for food. In a rare act of kindness, Logan gives the...

Wow, *The Boy Who Cried Christmas* by Dennis Bailey was such a unique read! It's totally different from anything I've picked up lately. Every so often, I'll finish a book and have absolutely no clue who it's even for. The premise of *The Boy Who Cried Christmas* seems perfect for kids—maybe even middle-grade readers at the oldest—but the book's length and some of the content make it feel like it's aimed at adults. And that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the problems I had with this book.
Logan is this entitled, super-consumerist nine-year-old who gets zapped back to ancient Israel by an angel during the time of ...

The blurb reads: "9-year-old Logan Ailshie, the only son of well-to-do parents, was used to getting his way, especially during the holidays. For him, Christmas wasn’t just about making a list, but making sure it was long enough. He also had a reputation for embellishing the truth. That is until a chance meeting with an angel on the streets of Manhattan ends with a journey back in time to the birthplace of Christianity.""The Boy Who Cried Christmas" by Dennis Bailey is, quite joyfully, one of the...

Looking at the title of Dennis Bailey's "The Boy Who Cried Christmas," along with the artwork on the cover, you'd naturally assume it's a children's book. After all, the phrase "The Boy Who Cried Christmas" echoes the classic fable, "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," meant to teach kids about honesty. The cover depicts a modern boy gazing over historic Bethlehem, with the bright star signaling the Nativity. The illustration style screams children's book. The main character, 9-year-old Logan, even travels...

A Wonderful Story of Redemption*The Boy Who Cried Christmas* by Dennis Bailey is a captivating story of redemption. We follow the journey of a young boy, chosen by God, to share the message of Jesus with a world increasingly lost to cynicism and disbelief. Simultaneously, we see an FBI agent grappling with his own crisis of faith. While the portrayal of angels isn't entirely accurate, it remains a powerful tale of hope and forgiveness. (Spoiler alert: I really wish he'd taken his mom with him th...

I've read a lot of Christmas stories, but *The Boy Who Cried Christmas* by Dennis Bailey is hands down the best Christmas story ever. It's about a nine-year-old boy who thinks getting presents is the whole point of Christmas. One day, while shopping with his mom, he gives his fast food to a homeless veteran, not realizing this vet is about to completely change his life. The vet, who turns out to be an angel, appears to Logan in his bedroom and tells him he's going to show him the *real* meaning ...
