I... don't think I can finish this right now. As hyped as I am for the sequel set in Minoan Crete, and as much as I enjoyed the start of this novel once I realized we weren't just getting a cute physician-and-seer love interest from Ancient Egypt, but also a second-chance romance, about halfway through the plot just went off the rails. Are you seriously trying to tell me that this American woman from the 1990s doesn't realize the capital-P Plagues of Egypt are happening all around her? The plot ...

Overall, I found this to be a very good story. The fact that it takes place in ancient Egypt definitely adds something extra, since Egyptology and archaeology always manage to captivate me. However, there were a couple of things that grated on me a bit because they seemed quite inconsistent. For example, after she "invaded" the other woman's body, she was pregnant and at the same time still maintained the virginity of her present self. It's beyond surreal. Also, the sudden appearance of time t...

Oh god, *Reflections in the Nile* was baaaaaad. I have no clue how Suzanne Frank's book has such a high rating. I was really hoping for a good book review experience, but wow. There are a two mild positive aspects to *Reflections in the Nile*:1. It was so bad that at times it burst out the other side of dreadful to become hysterically funny. I had a great time describing the ridiculous "plot twists" to my coworker during long drives out to work sites. We were crying with laughter.2. I picked up *...

I was intrigued by the premise of *Reflections in the Nile* by Suzanne Frank. I love reading about ancient Egypt, and the addition of time travel suggested a potentially very entertaining story. However, it's not an easy plot to pull off, despite its potential, and that proved to be the case here. I mostly enjoyed Chloe's adventures after she finds herself in the time of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut, via a time vortex, cast as an evil priestess. I actually preferred her lover, Lord Cheftu, a c...

Okay, full disclosure: I'm totally biased. I wrote "Reflections in the Nile" because the idea of traveling back to ancient Egypt seemed like the ABSOLUTE COOLEST thing imaginable. But if I already knew every single detail, if I was just confirming (or rewriting) what I expected, then... where's the fun in that? Where's the adventure? Where's the personal growth? That's where Chloe comes in—a modern woman, multicultural, a forward-thinker, but with enough historical understanding to grasp the rea...

Egypt is one of those countries I fell head-over-heels for as a kid. Mummies, pyramids, pharaohs – what more could a girl want? Suzanne Frank's *Reflections in the Nile* is a bit more grown-up than my childhood Egypt reads, but I absolutely loved it anyway. Time travel is always a blast, and Frank pulls it off beautifully. If you're looking for captivating historical fiction, definitely check out *Reflections in the Nile*.

From the book cover of Reflections in the Nile:"Imagine that you, a contemporary tourist, are standing awestruck in an ancient Egyptian temple. Suddenly a vortex in time and space sends you back thousands of years to a desert kingdom of glittering splendor. Your body has merged with that of a beautiful, scheming priestess, but your sensibilities, your intelligence, your terror remains that of a modern woman who is trying to get back home, trying, in this place of strangeness and wonder, to stay ...
