Call it time travel, call it reincarnation, honestly, it doesn't matter! :) The book description gives you a pretty good idea of what "Once in a Lifetime" by Kristin Hannah is all about. The heroine dies in an accident, but before moving on, she gets a second chance at life. Apparently, her first go-around wasn't so great. So, an angel lets her pick a new life to jump into for a fresh start. And guess what? She chooses to inhabit the body of a woman who *just* died giving birth to a baby boy ...

I was enjoying this way too much. The author's narrative really reminded me of Lavyrle Spencer's "Maravilla!", a story I loved with all my heart. But towards the end, everything unfolds too quickly. The story becomes repetitive, tedious, and boring. It all ends and you're left thinking... that's it?Very predictable. Also, that whole vibe with Carol was kind of creepy. LOLSorry if my reviews are getting shorter, but I barely have any time lately. *goes to cry in the corner*So, just to not leave the...

I'm not a fan of "Once in a Lifetime." I usually adore everything Kristin Hannah writes, but not this time. The story felt so unrealistic and frankly, boring. The constant shifting between three names for the same character was just exhausting. And Jack, the tortured male character? Utterly irritating and whiny. The whole premise—a 20th-century woman dies and is reincarnated into a woman living in the 1800s, with her modern mind and personality completely intact, all to save a man and his family...

God, in His infinite wisdom, makes sure everyone gets one happy life before they move onOur heroine's life was so-so. When she died, she never truly experienced perfect bliss. And so God gave her another chance; a chance at love and happiness. Then, she met him in his wife's body. Our hero puts EVERY tortured male hero you have EVER read to shame. He is scarred, wounded, and deathly afraid of himself. Life has stripped him of everything (read: his bi-atch of a wife) and left him an empty shell fil...

I only made it to page 15 before I had to put this book down. The premise, even in Kristin Hannah's usually capable hands, is utterly absurd. A hearing-impaired woman in 1993 Seattle gets hit by a bus and then gets to choose her second chance. She picks a family in the post-Civil War era. I usually enjoy Kristin Hannah's books, but "Once in a Lifetime" is simply ridiculous. Maybe another author could pull it off, but not Kristin Hannah. Definitely not a book review I can recommend.

WOW!! Beautiful! I was crying like crazy... One of the best time-travel romances I've ever read, and the hero is one of the best, most awesomely tortured heroes ever!

Overall, this deserves about 10/5 stars if that were possible!!;p If you love time travel romance books, you absolutely HAVE to read Kristin Hannah's "Once in a Lifetime"! Seriously, I'm adding this to my list of best romance book reviews!

This might just be the best reincarnation-time travel romance I've ever read! This theme is pretty new to me, so I was really looking for a book where someone gets stuck in a body that's already in a romantic relationship. Trust me, this setup makes all kinds of romances super fun.But this one was extra special because of the incredible character development and family dynamics.I was a little thrown by the fact that the hero even married his wife (who is now totally gone) and how he could still, ...

Okay, so the basic setup of "Once in a Lifetime" sounds kinda out there, right? But once I got into the story, I was totally hooked. And that's saying something because I usually steer clear of romance novels. I made an exception for Kristin Hannah, and I'm glad I did. Tess is a microbiologist who's pretty isolated. She lost her hearing when she was seven due to spinal meningitis and bounced around foster care her whole childhood. One night, she gets hit by a bus and… well, dies. But during thi...
