I really enjoyed this series. Super steamy, very dark, but just right.

I loved Jagger and Luke's journey, and it was hawwwwt. But also sweet. So basically the perfect combination. Very short, not too much plot, and very lovable. Just what I wanted! Julie Mannino's *Mine* totally delivered the heat I was craving, along with a touch of sweetness. If you're looking for a quick and dirty read, *Mine* is perfect!

I've discovered I'd rather read a story with straight-up violent rape than one with a rapist who convinces the victim they should be grateful for being treated so "nicely" and that "he doesn't enjoy seeing them suffer."

I love prison romances. Sadly, there's no romance to be found in "Mine", just BDSM, so be warned. The guard is essentially doing the main character a favor by offering protection, but only as long as he's submissive. He's a sadist, but generally kind to Luke, and everything remains very formal given their positions as prisoner and guard. If you're looking for steamy prison book reviews, this might scratch an itch, but Julie Mannino's "Mine" leans heavily into the BDSM aspect.
