~ Ranting: 5 stars ☆~ Spice: 1 chili pepper 🌶Seriously, Soren and Zale were two adorable little beans, I loved every single second of it!
“Soren, I can provide water for both of us. Your life is more precious than that. You make me feel... something. I can't explain it. But you deserve everything. And you will have whatever I can give.”
Okay, can we talk about Lysander Arden's *Lap Dance for Dystopia* for a minute? Because wow. Just wow. This book review could honestly just be me screaming ...

I absolutely loved the concept and themes in this book; I'm a total sucker for dystopian worlds, and combining that with a BL (Boys' Love) story was just brilliant. I bought "Lap Dance for Dystopia" out of curiosity and ended up with a real gem!💖 I also appreciated that the main characters are completely different from what you might expect in a book. They have problems and conditions that aren't common, which helps to bring visibility to those issues. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because...

Lysander Arden's *Lap Dance for Dystopia* isn't just a book; it's a goddamn experience. I stumbled upon this gem while hunting for new dystopian fiction, and let me tell you, it's unlike anything I've ever read. Arden's writing is sharp, visceral, and unapologetically raw. It's the kind of prose that crawls under your skin and sets up camp.
The characters in *Lap Dance for Dystopia* are beautifully broken, each grappling with their own demons in a world that's crumbling around them. You'll fin...

Rating: 5 stars! Absolutely loved this! It's my first time reading Lysander Arden, but I'm already planning to dive into their other books. The writing style and the world-building grabbed me right away, making "Lap Dance for Dystopia" a total breeze to read. I fell head over heels for Soren and Zale – honestly, I wish "Lap Dance for Dystopia" was longer just so I could spend more time with them, lol. Such a fantastic read, and I definitely recommend it if you're looking for a great novella or s...

So much of our current life gets lost in the future presented in Lysander Arden's *Lap Dance for Dystopia*. People are reduced to numbers, and every resource is strictly rationed.
Soren is naive at first, but a quick study. There's precious little left for those at the bottom of this hierarchy. Soren is inquisitive and kind, exactly my kind of person—especially with the emphasis on dresses with pockets, haha. I loved watching the character growth, seeing Soren’s eyes open to opportunities and k...

Great Short Story!
I really enjoyed this shorter book, "Lap Dance for Dystopia" by Lysander Arden. It was so different and original – a breath of fresh air! I don’t want to give anything away in this book review, so I’ll just say that the ending was absolutely perfect. Definitely worth a read if you're looking for something unique!

Wow! Lysander Arden's *Lap Dance for Dystopia* is one of those hidden gems you stumble upon and instantly know you've found something special. I went into this story with no preconceived ideas and was so pleasantly surprised. The author takes us on a journey into a dystopian future where people are valued according to their "number," and those without are given no consideration. It's a world where water is a premium and food is scarce. Soren is a 17-year-old dancer at an underground sex club. On...

I really enjoyed this take on a dystopian setting. I do wish there had been more discussion between Zale and Soren on the page. There was a lot of valuable and enjoyable world-building. The story wasn’t bogged down by it, which was great. I just wanted more interaction between them to really embrace their relationship. Right now, I understand that Zale is moving mountains to keep Soren, but they aren’t discussing what that means with each other. I am definitely looking forward to the next book i...

Soren is so precious, Zale is so precious, I love them so much it makes me feel dumb, and I can’t even write the review that *Lap Dance for Dystopia* deserves. The worldbuilding is incredible, especially for a book that's only 90 pages long. I could easily read a hundred more stories about this fascinating dystopia that Lysander Arden has created. I can’t wait for XVII’s story, but if I’m being 100% honest, all I want is a sequel with Soren and Zale being cozy in a house in Suprema, reading *New...

Okay, like, where do I even begin? This was the first book I ever picked up by Lysander Arden, and I was instantly OBSESSED. Seriously, from that moment on, I needed to devour every single thing they've ever written.Specifically about *Lap Dance for Dystopia*, I completely fell for the main character and their love interest. There's so much awesome non-binary and asexual representation, and I adored the relationship and how it developed – so gradual and tender. What I loved most was how the story ...
