Okay, this one stung a bit after reading other reviews. I absolutely loved the audiobook, adored the couple, and was really looking forward to diving into the rest of the series. Unfortunately, it seems that "Kissed by the Krampus" by L. Eveland is extremely similar – perhaps too similar – to another author's work, specifically Lily Mayne. I haven't read Lily Mayne's book myself, but now I'd honestly rather buy hers or explore other books by her instead. I’ve changed my rating from 5 stars down ...

Okay, so while *Kissed by the Krampus* was cute, it felt a lot like reading Lily Mayne's *Soul Eater*, which came out before L. Eveland's book. Just sayin'.SPOILERS AHEADHere's what felt super similar:- Monster main character whose job is to get rid of these insect-like parasites that have invaded human hosts, but in a way where the hosts can still blend into normal society.- Monster main character who's thousands of years old and still doing the exact same gig.- Military cover-up of the whole p...

This is my first one-star review out of 800+ books, and I usually consider myself a pretty generous reviewer. This is one of those times I probably shouldn’t have impulsively chosen a book based on one five-star review and a pretty cover, and maybe should have read some more reviews. *Kissed by the Krampus* by L. Eveland was very similar to Lily Mayne’s Monstrous series, in particular *Soul Eater*. Similar in a way that made me uncomfortable. This may well be because I only just finished the Mon...

This one starts off real slow, and the writing's kinda meh, but I was in it for the monster sex, so I kept going. Spoilers ahead!Things were mostly okay until I clocked all the similarities between this and Lily Mayne's Soul Eater. "Taking inspiration" from another book is bad enough, but I *hated* Soul Eater, so this was like a freakin' nightmare. Never thought I'd be reading a bad Soul Eater 2.0. Gonna list the similarities 'cause I don't think I'm imagining things: the monsters' sexy bits are...

Edit (Jan 11, 2024):When I originally read Kissed by the Krampus, I noticed that a lot of reviews referenced that there were marked similarities between Kissed by the Krampus and another very popular MM book. Because I hadn't read the other book yet, I decided to just rate & review this one based on my genuine thoughts at the time, hoping that the similarities were an exaggeration; especially because I had nothing but good experiences with L. Eveland. I have since read that other book and...oooo...

DNF at 60% Yeah, I'm tapping out. I just can't with *Kissed by the Krampus* by L. Eveland. It's not that it's *bad*, per se, but it's just... not grabbing me. I'm finding myself forcing myself to pick it up, and life's too short for books you have to *force* yourself to read. So, with apologies to the author, I'm calling it quits. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's the book, but either way, we're not vibing. On to the next holiday romance!

DNF at 49%. This story bears a striking resemblance to *Soul Eater*. Ollie is a perfectly likable hero... but let's be real, I'm head-over-heels for Wyn from *Soul Eater*, so it's no shocker that I enjoyed reading about Ollie. But despite liking Ollie, I just couldn't shake the similarities between the two books. Plus, I really couldn't stand Chris. *Another hero cut from the same cloth as Ms. Mayne's hero in her second book, Edin.* Ultimately, **Kissed by the Krampus** by L. Eveland just wasn...

DNF at 53%I think *Kissed by the Krampus* by L. Eveland had potential, but it felt too much like a Soul Eater knock-off. Unfortunately, that distraction completely pulled me out of the story, and I had to stop. I love Soul Eater way too much to ignore just how incredibly similar this book is.Now, I will say that the characters' personalities are different, and so is the creature itself. But… seriously. The similarities were so blatant that it made me uncomfortable. As far as paranormal romance b...

I was really looking forward to discovering this author with a naughty Christmas Krampus story. What I got instead felt like a rehash of Lily Mayne's *Wyn*. Frankly, I'm completely disgusted! 🤬 The story begins promisingly enough, with the brooding and self-pitying Chris Kringle 🙄 being rescued by the Krampus and nursed back to health. Chris is suffering from PTSD, has been seriously injured, and finds himself alone with the Krampus in the South Pole where feelings begin to blossom. All of th...

When I decided to pick up *Kissed by the Krampus* by L. Eveland, I was expecting a dark Christmas read with a twist since it involved Krampus, but instead we get a sweet, action-filled monster love story! We have a sweet, lonely monster who finds an army veteran who's had his butt kicked around by life. They form a sweet bond and slowly fall in love. Despite their reputation in the human world, Krampus aren’t evil or here to do harm. They are solitary creatures who, in the case of Ollie, find hu...
