It's never a good combination to be broke and desperate. You do stupid things. Like accidentally signing your soul over to Hell. When I interviewed for a new security job, I didn't bat an eye that it was for a literal graveyard shift... headstones and all. I mean, at the hourly rate they were offer...

Ivy Asher is addicted to chai, swearing, and laughing a lot (but not in a creepy, laughing alone kind of way). She loves the snow, books, and her family of two humans, and three fur-babies. She has worlds and characters just floating around in her head, and she's lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing people who supp...

Prefacing this book review by saying that I will read ANYTHING that Raven Kennedy writes. I'm obsessed with her Plated Prisoner, Heart Hassle, and Pack of Misfits series—they're all amazing, and they have me working through her backlog.
This book, Grave Mistakes, was my least favorite by her so far. Usually, I love Raven Kennedy's FMCs. They're always either funny or at least strong and likable. In Grave Mistakes, I thought that Delta was actually pretty annoying. She's "snarky" in a bad way. I...

I've enjoyed books from Ivy Asher and Raven Kennedy, so when I spotted that they had a series out together, it seemed like a no-brainer. My rating of four stars is probably on the generous side – honestly, this book, Grave Mistakes, was like watching a train wreck. On paper, it has a lot of clichés that I don't typically enjoy, but it was so hard to look away.
This book, Grave Mistakes by Ivy Asher, begins with Delta, a down-on-her-luck bartender searching for a new job. She comes across an ad ...

(27/07/24) (Doing a reread of this series as initially I stopped after book two. I've now acquired the physicals so I'm now revisiting the series to hopefully complete it.)I loved this book; there wasn't anything here that I didn't like. From the instant I picked up *Grave Mistakes*, I was transfixed and found myself constantly laughing out loud. It has such a fantastic vein of humor running through it, as well as numerous pop culture references that I totally appreciated. It's the first book in ...

*Grave Mistakes* by Ivy Asher is an interesting, fun, and funny read! The only reason it’s not a full five stars in this book review is because the main character was extremely aggravating. Her favorite saying seemed to be, “It wasn’t my fault.” However, I'm able to look past that, and I will definitely be reading the second book.

Spoilers ahead, 2.5* hesitantly rounded up for now.
This *Grave Mistakes* review covers a paranormal reverse harem story by Ivy Asher. 28-year-old waitress Delta is struggling; since the death of her parents, she's barely been able to stay afloat. When a one-night stand (ONS) obtains her bank details, she rapidly becomes broke and desperate. Bills are piling up, she's trying to DIY repair a wrecked house, and she's about to be jobless. An ad for a security officer with great pay and benefits se...

2.75Well, this is a mixed bag. On one hand, I did get some chuckles, and on the other, I had a lot of eye rolls. So I will say this – I enjoyed the beginning of the story. I found myself laughing at the quick, quippy dialogue, and Delta was spouting some serious gems. I also enjoyed her spastic humor and one-liners for the most part. But damn – reading other Grave Mistakes reviews, some people were not feeling the crude humor or throwback references. Yikes. Yeah, I agree that some of the stuff De...

Down on her luck and desperately needing a new job, Delta Gate stumbles upon an ad for a security guard position with an incredible hourly rate. She thinks she's hit the jackpot, but what she doesn't realize is that the job involves protecting a Gate to Hell – hence the amazing hazard pay and benefits.
I was genuinely enjoying Ivy Asher's *Grave Mistakes* at the start; there were some genuinely funny moments. However, as a reader of urban fantasy and paranormal romance, things eventually became...

13 REASONS WHY I HATED THIS BOOK (I won't write all 13, three will suffice)—Far too many curse words and unsavory images!! Completely unnecessary.I don't need 'f**k' or a variation of it in every single sentence. Here’s an example so you get the gist: “It feels like Satan’s asshole out here after he’s had fiery diarrhea. What the f**k?”—There isn't much happening in Grave Mistakes; everything is incredibly slow, and there’s far too much description.—At least 70% of Grave Mistakes by Ivy Asher des...

Okay bookThe beginning of Ivy Asher's **Grave Mistakes** started off well, but then the middle section, with the protagonist's constant 'oh, poor me, I can't do anything' attitude, got so incredibly annoying. Honestly, I had to stop reading because this **Grave Mistakes book review** made me want to jump into the pages and literally slap some sense into her! I did eventually push through to the end, and I'll admit, it does get better. However, I don't think I'll be continuing with any more books...

2005This book, Grave Mistakes by Ivy Asher, reads like it was written in 2005 by a 40+ woman who thinks Top Gun was high art, some ‘90s TV show with Tim Allen was the funniest thing they’d ever seen, and Mystikal is the best musician. Everything about this fantasy novel feels dated and more than a little pathetic. The female character, Delta Gates, is an utter airhead. If I were to choose a pop cultural reference that describes dim-bulb Delta, she would be Zooey Deschanel at the height of her man...
