Tere Michaels unofficially began her writing career at the age of four when she learned that people got paid to write stories. It seemed the most perfect and logical job in the world and after that, her path was never in question. (The romance writer part was written in the stars—she was born on Valentine’s Day.)It too...

Duty & Devotion by Tere Michaels. Faith, Love, and Devotion series #3. M-M contemporary romance.
Matt and Evan are a year into their relationship, and life's settling into a routine, which has them both feeling a little... unsettled. Balancing work, family, and their relationship is proving to be a juggling act. Finding the time to truly connect, talk about their feelings, and be intimate requires some serious scheduling and a little nudge from their friends.
Emotional family drama and persona...

[Special thanks to Martin for recommending the series to me]Finally!! We're back to Matt and Evan's story! I've really grown to love this couple, especially Matt! So, I was super psyched to dive into this one.Matt is such a charming and lovable character; honestly, I'd read the book just for him. I can't say the same for Evan at all. The way he behaved in "Duty & Devotion" deserves a few kicks up the backside. It was an angst-ridden story fueled by Evan's insecurities.Though I wasn't completely ...

This book left me feeling all kinds of messed up. It ended before I felt like things had settled down, and I'm just glad there are more books coming for this couple. Not because I *loved* the story, but because I hate when things are left hanging. I need closure! Anyway, we're back to where book one left off; fifteen months ago, life flipped police officer Evan Cerelli (35-ish?) and disgraced former cop turned security consultant, Matthew ‘Matt’ ‘Matty’ Haight (...

I was initially leaning towards a two-star rating. Honestly, the only thing that bumped it up to three was the ending and Evan finally getting his act together – because, for about 90% of the book, he was incredibly irritating.
The rest was… okay, I suppose. I liked Jim and the kids. Matt was definitely the best character.
I don't think I'll be picking up the other books in the series. *Duty & Devotion* just didn't click with me, and I'm not sure Tere Michaels' writing style is for me. If you'...

I absolutely love this series! It's wonderful to revisit Evan and Matt and see where they are in their lives. Of course, there are still challenges, especially for Evan, who struggles with being openly gay. But they work through it. The scene where they were debating who would be the top or bottom for the "real deed" was hilarious. Evan is so easy to tease and embarrass, which I loved. Matt is fantastic with the kids, well, most of them anyway. One little madam isn't quite as accepting, but I th...

Outraged!Someone clearly drugged me last night, tied me up, propped my eyelids open, and FORCED me to read this book! That's the only explanation. There's no way, after having read book 1, I would have CHOSEN to read another book about Matt and Evan, right? *shit*…but I did…* Evan remains an ass.* Matt remains a pushover (though still charming).* I passed on book 2 so I wouldn’t have to read about Jim…so there was WAY too much Jim/Griffin in this book. (I don’t dislike Jim…I just don’t care abou...

This story jumps right in after Matt and Evan get back together following their breakup. Evan's still struggling to accept his sexuality after the death of his wife, Sherri. He's finally found happiness with Matt, but after identifying as heterosexual for so many years, coming out completely is a real challenge. Being in the police force and having kids definitely complicates things.Matt's a fun-loving, easygoing guy who takes life as it comes. He's the complete opposite of Evan and is totally c...

Let me start with the worst thing about this book!
That it *ended*!!! Oh my god... I looooveeee Matt and Evan. I’m literally shaking right now; I just want to keep these two guys in my life forever and ever and ever and ever!
I don't know what it is about these two middle-aged guys, who used to be straight... I just love them so much, and I wish I could bribe Tere Michaels to keep writing about them. I don't care if it's about a trip to the mall, a car ride to the beach, or just reading about ...

Opening Line: "I think this couch just makes me horny"What a fantastic conclusion to this trilogy! It's not often you get the story *after* the happily ever after, and I really appreciated being allowed back into Evan and Matt's relationship to see how things were working out for them. As is often the case, their story, which began in (Faith & Fidelity), left us with a lot of loose ends, and here we're given a very complete conclusion to their romance. It was also fun to see Jim and Griffin ...

^^I AM DEVOTED TO THIS COUPLE!^^More of my reviews and thoughts on my blog PANTS OFF REVIEWSAll the ways I love this series—there are so, so many. This series is splendidly written with wonderful characters, and the overall storyline is so simple, moving and working so well. Tere Michaels is a wonderful writer, and whatever she's working on next, I'm so owning it.This is the third book in this wonderful series, and the sequel to Faith & Fidelity, and I am all kinds of in love with Evan and M...
