‘Unimaginable it seems To count the number Of mere shades all over’Born in Bombay, India, author Chriselda Barretto now lives in Belgium and has mixed Anglo-Indian and Goan-Portuguese roots. In addition to writing, she is an Inflight Safety Training Instructor in the Aviation Industry. She is also a professional modern jazz dancer. In this well-designed book – a combination of images and shapes placed beautifully alongside the many poems and prose Chriselda offers in "Dreams & Dew: Poems and Pro...

This is the third Chriselda Barretto book, Dreams & Dew: Poems and Prose, that I've devoured in under a week, and let me tell you, it was a thoroughly enjoyable and insightful experience thanks to its poems, storylines, and everything in between. I genuinely found Dreams & Dew: Poems and Prose entertaining and perfectly suited to my reading preferences, and I'm thrilled to recommend that you order it for your Kindle collection right now. Another excellent read from Chriselda Barretto. I found the majority of *Dreams & Dew: Poems and Prose* particularly enveloping and tender, although at times it felt a little too much like a greeting card. Overall, it was a positive experience. This is the third of Barretto’s books I’ve read, and she continues to be one of my favorite recent author discoveries. Barretto’s proclaimed mission of bringing poetry back to its glory days is an ambitious one. While I’m not sure *Dreams & Dew: Poems an...

I've read Chriselda Barretto's poetry before and really enjoyed her unique way of telling stories, so I decided to give 'Dreams & Dew: Poems and Prose' a try too. It's quite different from her previous work, 'The Creep,' but still a fantastic read. Where 'The Creep' was dark and unsettling, 'Dreams & Dew' is poetry brimming with genuine emotion. It's full of heart and soul, and so many of the poems really resonated with me. I have to say, my favorite was probably 'Lost and Found.' It's short and...

This is the third piece I’ve read from Chriselda Barretto. *Dreams & Dew: Poems and Prose* is a poetry/prose book, broken down into sections (outlined in the Table of Contents...which, as an aside, was kind of hard to read because the first letter of each title uses a fancy font). The poems are good, especially for a new, enthusiastic, and emerging author. Most of the rhymes felt natural, and the pacing is solid in the majority of the poems (and the others are likely down to my interpretation, n...

Dreams & Dew: Poems & Prose by Chriselda Barretto is a fantastic collection that truly highlights Barretto's talent and emotional depth. From the poem "I Dare You" to "Passing," and everything else nestled in between, these poems and prose pieces demonstrate a keen self-awareness, a deep dive into the author's mind, and even a touch of the macabre. It's quite the mix, offering a diverse selection to choose from. Spanning around 240 pages, you really get a feel for what Chriselda Barretto is tryi...
