Born without great beauty, wealth, or noble title, Anne Boleyn blossomed into a captivating woman. With her sharp wit and undeniable charm, she ensnared King Henry VIII, England's most powerful monarch, compelling him to defy his church, his court, and even his own wife to make her his queen. But An...

Doomed Queen Anne by Carolyn Meyer is a young adult historical novel that tells the captivating story of Anne Boleyn, the ambitious woman who rose from relative obscurity in the English court to become Queen of England as the second wife of King Henry VIII. Her dramatic ascent was only matched by her tragic fall from grace, facing execution when she failed to provide a male heir and was accused of treason and adultery.
Narrated in the first person from Anne’s perspective, this compelling book f...

This was a great book. The prose was solid, and the story felt deeply grounded in its historical period. While, of course, some aspects are speculative, I truly appreciate that Carolyn Meyer clearly did her research and stayed accurate to the available historical accounts. Anne Boleyn has always been one of my favorite figures in British royal history, and *Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3)* felt both informative and gripping from start to finish. For any fan of historical fiction or YA histo...

Carolyn Meyer writes historical fiction and YA novels. *Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3)* is the fictionalized autobiography of Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII's second wife, and mother of Queen Elizabeth I. Despite her historical status as a bewitching woman, she actually started life as the ugly sister of Mary, who was also Henry's lover. But Anne was smart, and learned her wiles while in service at the French court. There is a long-standing rumour that Anne had six fingers on one hand (repeated i...

Carolyn Meyer's 'Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3)' is a wonderful book for children, but the shoddy history and distinct lack of sympathy for Anne Boleyn makes me wince.

I started *Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3)* by Carolyn Meyer but didn't finish it. My primary goal was to determine if this historical fiction novel would be suitable for a Christian school library. Unfortunately, I found far too much immorality within its pages, leading me to immediately reject it. In my opinion, children do not need to be exposed to such material in their reading.

I will ALWAYS love Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3) by Carolyn Meyer. It's truly what started it all for me. After reading this book, I went on to devour all sorts of novels about Anne Boleyn; I came to love her and recognize her as my idol. My idol, my hero, through the pages of this compelling YA historical fiction.
As a young adult book, it's naturally not littered with graphic sex scenes or overly complex academic language, but it was remarkably historically accurate. From what I recal...

I've always been a fan of history, which is why I picked up Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3) a few years ago when I was a sophomore in high school, despite the fact that it was aimed at a younger audience. All I can say is, I'm so glad I did. Though clearly geared towards young adults, it's a very intriguing story. This was the first book I ever read about Anne Boleyn, and Doomed Queen Anne really ignited my passion for historical fiction. I'm actually a history major going into my senior ye...

This was an unpleasant story, and frankly, a challenging **historical fiction review** to write. While the writing itself was good, and I generally enjoy all the other **Carolyn Meyer** books I've read, the subject matter of **Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3)** really bothered me. It's inherently depressing to read about a girl you know is destined for execution. Anne's personality, as interpreted in this YA historical novel, reminds me a lot of Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With the Wind. She c...

In Carolyn Meyer's *Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3)*, Anne Boleyn spends a significant amount of time plotting ways to get Henry VIII to marry her. Her intricate scheming eventually pays off, only for her to ultimately be executed.A substantial portion of this historical fiction novel's narrative can be summarized quite simply: Henry VIII: Anne, sleep with me!Anne: No thanks. Besides, withholding sex is the only weapon in my arsenal, so you're gonna have to make do with cuddling and heavy p...

This book, "Doomed Queen Anne (Young Royals, #3)" by Carolyn Meyer, tells the basic story of Anne Boleyn and how she weaseled her way to the throne by marrying Henry VIII. It's a fantastic YA historical fiction review for anyone interested in the Tudor era or who just loves historical fiction. Because it's a young adult novel, it's very easy to read and understand – a real plus when history isn't always easy to keep straight.
This is my first Carolyn Meyer novel, though I have "Duchessina" on m...
