I'm so grateful to Bernadette Walsh, the author, for offering "Devil's Mountain (The Devlin Legacy, #1)" to our Ladybugs book club on Facebook in exchange for an honest review. Personally, I never read what a book is about beforehand, so I went in knowing only that it involved a witch. This book was really good; it's been a while since a paranormal romance has grabbed my attention like this.In each generation, one Devlin woman is chosen to protect her family. Mary, sadly, keeps what she's going ...

Really enjoyed the first four books in the series! Bernadette Walsh's writing is superb. If you love a good historical fiction read, especially with a touch of romance and intrigue, grab "Devil's Mountain (The Devlin Legacy, #1)". I highly recommend this book, and the entire series based on the quality of the first four. A must-read for fans of Bernadette Walsh!

I received this book, *Devil's Mountain (The Devlin Legacy, #1)* by Bernadette Walsh, for free from Making Connections in exchange for an honest review.
The story hooked me right from the start! It had just the right amount of scares, and there were definitely moments where I was yelling at the characters for making such dumb decisions – always a good sign in a thriller! There were also parts where I was thinking, “I’m going to be seriously annoyed if this all turns out to be just Mary’s imagi...

This book, Devil's Mountain (The Devlin Legacy, #1) by Bernadette Walsh, was nothing like I expected. The summary, while intriguing, reveals very little, leading me to believe it would be your typical paranormal/fantasy romance read. A bit of fluff, some magic sprinkled here and there. Boy, was I wrong! As soon as I dove in last night, I was hooked. I love how the story kicks off in the thick of things and then circles back to the beginning. I don't know why, but I really enjoy when authors use ...

I've always been drawn to stories rooted in Irish and Celtic lore, so "Devil's Mountain (The Devlin Legacy, #1)" immediately piqued my interest when I read the summary. I absolutely love how Bernadette Walsh weaves together history and myth; it made the story feel incredibly real to me. My feelings toward Caroline shifted constantly throughout the book. Initially, I liked her, but then she reached a point where she declared she'd rather die than not have a child. My heart truly went out to Bobby...

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
In every book I read, I need to either like the character as a person or at least understand them—their tone, their actions, and their motives.
In *Devil's Mountain (The Devlin Legacy, #1)*, this seemed almost secondary. I understood both main characters, but they almost felt like filler to the real story. This wasn't a bad thing at all. I honestly can't think of another book I've read where the characters seemed less impor...

I was initially a bit thrown off by the narrative style of *Devil's Mountain (The Devlin Legacy, #1)* by Bernadette Walsh. However, considering the need to convey a lot of information while maintaining a brisk pace, I'm not sure it could have been told any other way. The story opens with a young woman named Caroline at her wedding to Bobby Connelly. They met in New York, but both families hail from a close-knit area in Ireland, deeply connected to Devlin's Mountain. Caroline's mother knew Bobby'...

I've read two of Bernadette Walsh's other books and loved them. However, both of those fell into the Women's Fiction category, so I wasn't sure what to make of *Devil's Mountain* when I saw it was paranormal fiction.I'm so glad I gave it a shot!Bernadette Walsh does a great job creating characters that stick with you. Plus, it has those great paranormal elements—witches and an evil spirit. The story is an interweaving of two narratives: Bobby and his wife Caroline, and his mother Mary and Slanait...

Caroline Collins married the love of her life, Bobby Connelly – her perfect match. It seemed like a fairytale, right up until the rehearsal dinner when things took a dark turn. The arrival of Bobby’s stunning mother, Mary, stirred up old memories… or were they just old wives' tales? Caroline’s mother, Nellie, suddenly started spouting superstitions, accusing Mary of making a pact with the devil. Apparently, Nellie and Mary grew up in the same tight-knit mountain community in Ireland, and Nellie ...
