Kelley Armstrong has been telling stories since before she could write. Her earliest written efforts were disastrous. If asked for a story about girls and dolls, hers would invariably feature undead girls and evil dolls, much to her teachers' dismay. All efforts to make her produce "normal" stories failed.Today, she co...

This is a well-written and thoroughly entertaining murder mystery novel. It features a likeable, intelligent, strong, and capable female protagonist who has traveled through time to the past, and it's packed with wit, intrigue, suspense, a slow-burn romance, twists and turns, and a satisfying conclusion. *Death at a Highland Wedding* is the fourth entry in Kelley Armstrong's outstanding A Rip Through Time series, and it's definitely best enjoyed when read in order. The introduction handily provi...

Mallory Atkinson, the modern-day, thirty-one-year-old homicide detective from Vancouver, Canada, is back. She's still 150 years in the past in Scotland, and still in the body of twenty-year-old maid Catriona Mitchel. Mallory is enjoying her job as assistant to undertaker and medical examiner Dr. Duncan Gray, assisting him and Detective Hugh McCreadie on a variety of cases. In this fourth book of the A Rip Through Time series, Mallory, along with Duncan, his sister Isla Ballantine, and Hugh, trav...

4.0 StarsI absolutely devoured the first few books in this series, and then the wait for the next ones felt like forever! This one took a little while to get going, but once the mystery kicked in, I was completely hooked. The murder investigation was genuinely gripping, with some fascinating clues popping up. I also really appreciate the ongoing personal relationships between the characters, which, let's be honest, is a huge part of what makes this series so appealing. I'm a sucker for a "fish o...

The fourth installment in the Rip Through Time series, *Death at a Highland Wedding* follows Mallory and Duncan as they leave the city behind for the Scottish Highlands for the wedding of a family friend. Once they arrive in the countryside, Mallory finds herself in the middle of Detective Hugh McCreadie's family drama and soon, a murder takes place. Kelley Armstrong is one of my favorite authors, and this series is one of the strongest of her most recent works. After book 3, we got partial clos...

Kelley Armstrong is one of my absolute favorite authors, and across so many different genres, everything she writes just clicks with me. This is definitely one of my favorite series (and not just because I share a name with the protagonist, Mallory!), but it’s genuinely fun and packed with excellent murder mysteries – what more could a girl want? In "Death at a Highland Wedding" by Kelley Armstrong, Mallory and her friends head to McCreadie’s sister’s wedding in the Scottish Highlands, but thing...

Gripping, interesting, chilling, shocking, and utterly unputdownable! I fell head over heels for Mallory Atkinson and Dr. Duncan Gray in the first book of the series, A Rip Through Time! My adoration only continues with them and the supporting cast in this installment. If you haven't yet dived into this series, I wholeheartedly recommend it. I find not just this book, but all the others, captivating, wonderfully written, atmospheric, thrilling, and shrouded in mystery. A quick rundown of the cha...

First and foremost, a huge thank you to NetGalley, Kelley Armstrong, St. Martin’s Press, and Minotaur Books for providing me with a copy of this publication, which allows me to provide you with an unbiased review.
Kelley Armstrong is back with another of her great thrillers that spans over a century and a half. Mallory Atkinson continues to settle in 19th century Scotland with her secret of time travel. She and her close friends are on their way to a wedding in the Scottish Highlands, a great b...

Kelley Armstrong is one of those authors that consistently delivers books that are exactly to my taste, across genres. In her Rip Through Time series, Mallory Atkinson is a modern day detective visiting family in Edinburgh when she’s violently attacked in an alley. When she wakes up, she’s in Victorian Scotland in the body of a young housemaid, working for the local undertaker/medical examiner Dr. Gray. Hijinks ensue. This is the 4th book in the series, so we’ve had time to settle in with these c...

3.5 stars, rounded up to 4. This is the 4th book in a series, and I haven't read the previous ones. I appreciated that Kelley Armstrong included a quick recap at the beginning to introduce the characters to new readers like me.
The premise is that Mallory, a modern-day detective, gets transported back to the 1870s. In "Death at a Highland Wedding," the reader is whisked away to the stunning Scottish Highlands for a wedding celebration. Of course, someone turns up dead, and the question becomes:...

Now Available!I was excited to dive back into the intriguing world of the “A Rip Through Time” series as we reunite with Mallory Atkinson, a modern homicide detective from Vancouver, now navigating life in the 19th-century Scottish Highlands—still in the body of 20-year-old maid Catriona Mitchel. In this compelling fourth installment, Mallory embraces her role as assistant to the passionate Dr. Duncan Gray, the village undertaker and medical examiner, collaborating with him and the charming Dete...
