Sookie Stackhouse, a cocktail waitress in Bon Temps, Louisiana, isn't your average girl. She can read minds, a talent that makes dating...complicated. Most guys aren't thrilled, unless they're undead. Vampires, like the magnetic Eric, are immune to her gift. And when Sookie finds Eric stripped bare...

(B) 72% | More than SatisfactoryNotes: Full of fluff, just sex used as plot (the \"story\" sets the stage), witches are featured—should be creatures—hard to get invested.*Check out progress updates for detailed commentary: Progress updates:11/05/2025 - Preamble(1) So, as far as I can recall from my first read of the series, this is the point where the novels and the TV show completely diverge.- Hence, I can't see how I can use GIFs in updates anymore—the last book was a real struggle!- I think t...

True Blood book 4 The most entertaining installment yet! A coven of witches aims to overthrow the local supernatural population; Eric gets hit with a spell; and Jason vanishes! Some seriously great Southern Vampire drama! A solid Three Stars, 6 out of 12. The TV show doesn't get nearly enough love either.

2010 read Looking for a fun vampire book review? Charlaine Harris's *Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 4)* delivers!

This is the best book in the series so far, especially now that I picture the characters from the TV show. "Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 4)" by Charlaine Harris has definitely become a guilty pleasure of mine. If you're looking for a fun paranormal romance read, this is it!

Notes: Familiar and likable characters make it decent, but there's not much plot. Very static, it didn't add much to the series. Charlaine Harris's *Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 4)* is a comfort read, but don't expect fireworks. If you're looking for engaging paranormal romance book reviews, this one's a mixed bag.

Find all of my reviews at: http://52bookminimum.blogspot.com/NOTE: The Eric gifs are coming, but y’all are gonna have to work for them ; )By the time I reached Book #9 the end of the Sookie Stackhouse series, my reaction was something kinda like this . . . I (along with many other superfans of the Southern Vampire Series) was extremely disappointed. Not with the “who will Sookie end up with????” part. I mean seriously - DUH when it came to that question. I was bummed that it felt like Harris...

Loving Eric and Sookie's chemistry! I personally think Bill is a total jerk, lol. He didn't even realize Sookie was bending over backwards to pay *his* bills.
And oh yeah, remember when

Dear Charlaine, This might sound a little harsh, but I need to start by saying you're a bit of a hack. But I don't mean that in a bad way, because the truth is, I wouldn't want you to be anything other than the ass-kicking, pseudo-horror, pseudo-romance, pseudo-thriller hack that you are. You're my go-to guilty pleasure author. I love hanging out with Sookie and her crew, and that's all down to you. I just wanted you to know that *Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 4)* is my favorite o...

Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 4) is the fourth book in Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series. I actually read this a year or more ago, but re-read it last night and realized I like it even more than I initially thought! It's definitely worth a spot on your "best paranormal romance novels" list. Eric is my favorite character, full stop. But during Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 4), I *really* loved the 'new' Eric. He seemed so vulnerable and lost. It was like seein...

So, after Bill, we get Eric – the super-hot vampire with amnesia. Where another author might have leaned into a *Mulholland Drive*-esque plot, lingering on the noir aspects inherent in vampire mythology, *Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 4)* by Charlaine Harris radically shifts the series. It moves away from "Twilight" territory and heads straight for "Buffy" vibes. I'm happy to say that *Dead to the World* features less Sookie getting injured and a whole lot more beastly bloodshed tha...

This book kicks off with a serious punch. Dull-as-dishwater Bill announces he's off to Peru, and Eric, the 6'4" Viking vampire, rocks up in Bon Temps under the most bizarre circumstances: he's legging it down the road half-naked *and* he's got amnesia. Seriously, don't you think more books should start with a half-naked vampire with amnesia? If that doesn't grab you, then, to be blunt, we might struggle to find common ground because that scenario tickles my funny bone in so many ways; I can't ev...
