Werewolves and shifters are following the vampires' lead, revealing themselves to the human world. Sookie Stackhouse is no stranger to the supernatural—her own brother is a were-panther, her friends are the local were pack, and her boss, Sam, is a shifter. Charlaine Harris has been a published writer for over forty years. Her first two books were standalones, followed by a long sabbatical when she was having children. Then she began the Aurora Teagarden book, mysteries featuring a short librarian (eventually adapted for Hallmark movies). The darker Lily Bard books came n...

For the majority of the book, I'd probably have given it 3.5 stars, but the climactic battle and the ending really bumped it up to 4. I've been completely hooked by the fairy storyline, and I've definitely swung over to Team Eric instead of Team Bill. Can't wait to dive into the next one! If you're looking for thrilling urban fantasy book reviews, Charlaine Harris's *Dead and Gone (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 9)* is a must-read.

Notes: The writing style feels a little different in *Dead and Gone (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 9)* by Charlaine Harris, with more inner thoughts and hints about what's to come. Not sure it's actually better, though. As far as book reviews go, this one is pretty straightforward.

***Spoiler Alert***I was fine with \"Dead and Gone (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 9)\" by Charlaine Harris until about 20 pages from the end, and then all hell broke loose. What's the point of telling us Claudine is pregnant if you're going to kill her off two pages later?! Just let Sookie, and us readers, think she's knitting a sweater for an elf, or gnome, or whatever! We don't need two pregnant women killed in one book. I'm also not okay with how "meh" the deaths felt in this installment. I hated h...

It’s not the worst book ever, as some reviews claim, but it’s far from the best. Charlaine Harris didn’t give us what we were hoping for and gave us too much of what we weren’t interested in. Specifically, most of us are still reading this series to see who Sookie ends up with. Whether you're Team Eric, Team Bill, Team Quinn, or Team Sam, you'd expect some kind of resolution to her love life, even if temporary. We got nothing. The lack of development in the Eric/Sookie (or Bill/Sookie and Quinn/...

(B+) 77% | GoodNotes: The story leans heavily into fairies (less fangy and hairy), a real Tinker-bellum, a ton of lore that's underexplored—less showy, more of a tell 'em.*Check out progress updates for detailed commentary: Progress updates:01/10/2026 - Preamble(1) So, now we're in the realm of books—from here until the end—where I barely remember anything.- It's all just one big blob, titles are just puns and don't mean anything, I don't know the reading order anymore, and I wouldn't be able to...

True Blood book No. 9:We've had a were war, a vampire war, so this one's the Fae war, and what a war! *Dead and Gone* is very dark and has a few huge series' resolutions. Great episode, nine parts in, one doesn't expect a series to produce its best story yet! Harris's trick is that within her tales she truly conveys how super beings would relate, or should that be - *not* relate, to us mere mortals! 7 out of 12, Three Stars2010 read Looking for thrilling vampire novels? Charlaine Harris deliver...

❤ 5 Dead and Gone Stars ❤ This book is action PACKED! Sookie needs protection from the fairies.Strange deaths, horrible deaths, and a confusing love life. It’s weird reading this series because some things happened in the TV show *True Blood* that didn't happen in the books, and vice versa. Occasionally, they sync up.The whole fairy aspect still kind of baffles me. And why is Sookie still hung up on Bill, but only when he does something nice for her? He saves her life, and all of a sudden, he's a...

This was an okay Sookie Stackhouse story, although it was a bit dull in places. Sookie was once again in trouble in this story, although I have to say that putting lemon juice in water pistols to kill fairies was quite clever! The storyline in *Dead and Gone* by Charlaine Harris was about Crystal being killed, and someone trying to kill Sookie, as well as some romance with an old favorite! The first half of the book dragged a bit, but the second half was better, and I really liked the romance!...

Book Nine. Sookie's still at it, even though nothing new has happened for at least five books now (and that's being generous). This particular edition of her repetitive adventures recycles two of Harris's frequently used plots: a series of random attacks and a war involving 'Supes.' Both proceed as usual, although the latter involves the hasty introduction of a horde of new characters and a rushed explanation of their lineage. Given Harris has had eight previous books to launch some of these cha...

In the ninth installment of the Sookie Stackhouse series, *Dead and Gone*, we're dealing with the aftermath of two major revelations: Sookie's great-grandfather is fairy royalty, and the were-creatures have finally revealed themselves to the world. Both have consequences that aren't great for Sookie, mainly being kidnapped by psycho fairies who were responsible for her parents' deaths (I always knew there was more to that flash flood!) and Arlene plotting with the Fellowship to kill Sookie and d...
