Cynric's life is a cycle of chores, his only joy found in secret moments of dressing up. He dreams of romance, but believes an earl could never desire a man in lace. Way better than the original Cinderella story 😜, and honestly, it actually makes a lot more sense! Julie Mannino's *Cynric Ella: A Fairytale Retelling* is a fantastic twist on the classic. Definitely a great fairytale retelling and worth checking out!

Cynric was such a sweetheart! I really enjoyed how "Cynric Ella: A Fairytale Retelling" followed the classic Cinderella story but then took its own path. I'm a sucker for clever twists and happy endings that you don't see coming. Julie Mannino created an absolutely adorable couple in this fairytale retelling. Definitely a feel-good read!

A fantastic fairytale retellingI absolutely loved this book! The story centers around Cynric, whose childhood is a complete nightmare, living with a cruel stepmother and stepsisters who force him to do all the housework – cooking, cleaning, mending clothes, the works. Sound like a familiar story? This was such a fun, fresh take on Cinderella, with a M/M romance that really worked. It’s a quick, engaging read, packed with surprises that genuinely caught me off guard. I highly recommend giving *Cy...

I love the title!

The title to this book drew me in. It's so clever! The story mirrors the tale of Cinderella with all manner of fantastic adjustments. I especially love the inclusion of Thor and Loki, with a cute moment for Fenrir as well. As always with Julie Mannino, the story flows well, and I enjoyed the happy ending after a few speed bumps. If you're looking for fairytale retellings, give *Cynric Ella: A Fairytale Retelling* a try!

Okay, femboys! Cynric in Julie Mannino's *Cynric Ella: A Fairytale Retelling* was such a sweetheart, and I felt terrible about how beaten down he’d become. I loved his dresses and how Loki helped him with the carriage and everything. What made this better than the Cinderella movie I watched ages ago was that Earl Charmant had a genuine passion. The movie Prince was so bland. Did he like art? Reading? Picnics in the Alps? Who knows? I get that the movie was about Cinderella, but giving her at lea...

Aww, I absolutely loved this fresh take. Honestly, it was so much better than the actual Cinderella story. I always pictured Cinderella as being a bit bored and, well, just a pretty showpiece for the Prince after they tied the knot.
In *Cynric Ella: A Fairytale Retelling*, both Cynric and Henri get to pursue their true passions, and that's what makes this book so special. If you're looking for unique fairytale retellings, definitely check out Julie Mannino's *Cynric Ella: A Fairytale Retelling*!

The first two-thirds of "Cynric Ella: A Fairytale Retelling" were thoroughly enjoyable. However, the ending just didn't quite land for me. As far as fairytale retellings go, Julie Mannino had me hooked, but the conclusion missed the mark.

2.5/5. Heads up: spoilers might be ahead. Read carefully!Content warnings for the book: Child abuse, toxic masculinity, misogyny Kink: Nope. This one had some seriously strange mood swings. We were getting a scene-by-scene "Cinderella" story, the happily-ever-after looked like it was coming at the 70% mark, and then… BAM! A fire? Things go downhill fast after that, and the ending is definitely not what you'd expect. It completely messed up the book's vibe for me.It's set on an alternate Earth, bu...

This one was so sweet and cute! I think I might have even liked *Cynric Ella: A Fairytale Retelling* by Julie Mannino more than the Red Riding Hood story. Cynric enjoys dressing as a woman, but there's this one part I really loved where he basically says he doesn't *want* to be a woman; he just prefers feminine things over masculine ones. You can be a guy and still feel and *be* pretty, you know? 😊I really need more Loki, too! I can't wait to see what else he gets up to in the other fairytales....
