This honestly felt like a short story that got stretched out into a novel. "City at the Edge of Time" reads very linearly, almost one-dimensional, and it's a pretty quick read. It's been ages since I dove into any of the Thieves' World books, and this makes me think I need to revisit the whole series. I remember Tempus being a way more vibrant character than he comes across here. Honestly, the story feels more about Niko than Tempus, at least that's my impression of "City at the Edge of Time" by...

Seriously Spellbinding!City at the Edge of TimeBy Janet and Chris MorrisNiko, Right Side Companion of Tempus, is a character I already knew and loved, having followed his adventures in the many books Janet and Chris Morris have written about him over the years.Of all of them, City at the Edge of Time has to be my absolute favorite.Nikodemous is more than a character; he's a fully realized personality. He's so well-written, so intimately explored, that I've become completely emotionally invested ...

Janet and Chris Morris have, once again, delivered a novel brimming with action, suspense, and deeply human drama. Every main and supporting character is fully developed; we're given access to their inner thoughts and feelings, allowing us to understand their motivations, sympathize with them, and even empathize with their weaknesses. This novel boasts a rich tapestry of intricate details, compelling characters, and gripping human drama. Politics and religion are integral components, seamlessly ...

City at the Edge of Time is another fantastic addition to Janet E. Morris's Silistra Quartet Series. The ancient gods arrive with serious power in this dark fantasy, packed with battles against evil forces and other immortal hybrids. I love the fusion of a real historical theme mixed into the fantasy. Morris crafts a colorful and vivid world, easily transporting the reader. If you're looking for exciting fantasy book reviews, definitely check out City at the Edge of Time by Janet E. Morris.

Absolutely wonderful and riveting! There's never a dull moment as we ride alongside the Sacred Band's cavalry, exploring long-lost ancient worlds, cultures, and customs. We fight to protect these worlds, keeping them safe from harm, suffering, and triumphing alongside our valiant heroes. Janet E. Morris's *City at the Edge of Time* is a truly wonderful read! Ever heard the saying, "it's raining cats and dogs?" That idiom's a pretty good way to kick off our story, because a city full of immortals, stuck on the shores of land, sea, and forever, gets hit by a seriously weird shower of fish—carp, to be exact. And along with the fish comes a naked dude—Nikodemus, also known as Stealth, the sworn right-hand man of Tempus, who’s basically the storm god Enlil's avatar. But how did Niko end up in this City at the Edge of Time in such a bizarre way? Why doe...

Janet Morris is pure magic – everything she touches turns to gold. As a longtime fan of the Silistra Quartet, I couldn't resist diving into this series, and I'm so incredibly glad I did. Every single word of *City at the Edge of Time* is absolutely spellbinding, and Janet E. Morris writes with such passion. Glorious, simply glorious. If only all fantasy books could be this enjoyable, I'd be one very happy reader. For a captivating read, *City at the Edge of Time* is a must!

It's alright, but honestly, it doesn't quite measure up to the earlier Tempus books. Especially not the ones that were more closely linked to the Sanctuary stories. If you're looking for a great fantasy read, City at the Edge of Time by Janet E. Morris is okay, but maybe start with her other work first. This is more of a 'for fans only' type of book review.
