I received "Brainwalker: Journey into the Mind" for review, and let me tell you, it’s a trip! The story centers on Bernard, a young lad with dreams of becoming a scientist. Tragedy struck when his mother perished in an experiment, leaving his father creatively paralyzed ever since. Bernard's a bit of a troublemaker at school, and after one particularly eventful suspension, his dad brings him along to his science lab. While snooping around, Bernard gets sucked into his father's brain through a wo...

"Isn’t that what it means to be a scientist? To push the boundaries of the unknown? To bravely, actively explore the enormity of our universe?”
Fourteen-year-old Bernard *always* seems to be the black sheep wherever he goes. He's a creative and free thinker living in a world *full* of people who mainly use logic and cold-hard facts to live by. Raised by scientists, he aspires to become one too, but how can he when he *can't even think up a proper science fair project*? All of his ideas seem ...

"Brainwalker: Journey into the Mind" centers on Bernard, a boy who feels more like a real person than just a character. After a bit of trouble at school, he tags along with his dad to work and, naturally, finds even more trouble! Specifically, Bernard ends up entering a wormhole that sends him into his father's brain. What I really loved about this story is that Bernard isn't portrayed as some 'bad kid' or 'class clown.' He's a talented, creative boy who just hasn't had the best opportunities or...

I received a copy of *Brainwalker: Journey into the Mind* from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to Robyn Mundell for this opportunity.
The main character of *Brainwalker: Journey into the Mind* is young Bernard, and I absolutely loved him. He's a science enthusiast, a real out-of-the-box thinker, constantly questioning everything, and unafraid to ask questions. But after his mother dies in a lab accident, no one appreciates his 'crazy' ideas and curious mind, least of all his ...

I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed "Brainwalker: Journey into the Mind" by Robyn Mundell. It's like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" meets science fiction, a surprisingly fun combination!
Bernard, the son of two scientists, faces a tough situation after his mother's accidental death in a science-related incident. His dad, now wary of creativity and emotion, and Bernard himself is struggling at school.
A chance visit to his dad's office leads to Bernard being sucked into a...

I received an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review!
First of all, as you can see from my rating, I quite enjoyed reading about the adventures of Bernard, who travels through a wormhole inside his emotionally distant dad's brain and finds out that there's a whole universe, a Brainiverse, living inside of it! So, he makes it his quest to save his dad, who is in grave danger because the whole right hemisphere of his brain, the one from where intuition, creativity and impulse stems fr...

Brainwalker: Journey into the Mind was a truly exciting and clever book! It follows a boy who somehow ends up inside his dad's brain, with the chance to rescue him from losing his creativity and mental sharpness. I'd describe the plot as a real page-turner – imaginative and adventurous from start to finish. The setting is mostly inside the protagonist's father's brain, which is called the Brainiverse, and it blends actual brain anatomy with fantastical elements. Mundell and Lacast weave science ...

As the first Young Adult novel from the writing team of Robyn Mundell and Lacast, *Brainwalker: Journey into the Mind* draws us into Bernard's sensory and atmospheric world, leaving us with high hopes for a series of journeys to come.
Much like experiencing Avatar in a 3D IMAX theater, this exciting and provocative novel features characters (both in Bernard's outer and inner worlds) and images of such depth that the reader can't help but feel completely INVITED into this fantastical storyline.

I really enjoyed reading *Brainwalker: Journey into the Mind*. I thought the whole idea behind it was incredibly clever – it's definitely a fresh take on teenage urban fantasy that I haven’t come across before. I found myself completely drawn to Bernard and all his geeky questions and theories. He’s charming, creative, and perceptive – a great contrast to his father, who is clearly going through a tough time and is, well, a bit bland.Bernard accidentally travels through a wormhole and ends up in...
