This one's a tough one to review. Like a lot of other reviewers, I felt like *Book of Night* was longer than it actually was, and the first half just dragged *badly*. There's very little explanation of the whole shadow concept, so you're just confused as hell. Then Holly Black throws in about a dozen character introductions that literally don't matter? I would have DNF'd (Did Not Finish) this if I didn't already own it.But the second half… that feels like Holly Black at her absolute best. Don't ...

Okay, so *Book of Night* by Holly Black started a little rough, I won't lie. But I'm genuinely glad I stuck with it because I ended up really enjoying it. Seriously, if you're looking for a new fantasy book review, keep reading!Let's be real about the first half. Yes, it's slow-paced. Yes, the world-building feels a bit thin. And yeah, it can be a little boring. Plus, the characters seemed kinda flat at first. But then there's this moment where you realize, 'Wait a minute, things are actually wa...

I'm back to change my rating; this book doesn't even deserve three stars. It was so freaking boring. I was really into it at first because it's Holly Black, and it mentioned tarot cards, and I read tarot. But I kind of hated how tarot card readers are represented in "Book of Night." Like they're all scammers. I know it's fiction, but it just didn't sit right with me. The book was boring as hell, the main character was totally bland, and honestly, there wasn't even a romance. I don't need a roman...

WHERE IS BOOK 2
Seriously, Holly Black, where is it? I devoured \"Book of Night\" and now I'm left here impatiently tapping my foot, desperate for more. Black has crafted a world so intriguing, so dark and twisty, that I'm completely hooked. The characters are compelling, the magic system is fascinating, and the plot kept me guessing until the very end. If you're looking for a new urban fantasy obsession, look no further than Holly Black's \"Book of Night.\" Just be warned: you'll be begging ...

I can't believe it. I was so sure I'd love *Book of Night*, one of my most anticipated reads of the year, especially coming from the author who wrote one of my all-time favorite YA fantasy series. But I didn't. I think I'm in shock.
Where do I even begin? When I think of Holly Black, I think of *The Cruel Prince*, with its sharp writing, compelling characters, well-plotted story, and seamless worldbuilding. None of that was present in *Book of Night*.
Instead, the writing felt so flat that I d...

Happy belated birthday! And here’s my digital creation to celebrate the release of this beauty! https://www.instagram.com/tv/CdJSyyNp...Well, well, well! I’ve been seriously longing for it!I have complex feelings: there are so many pros and cons that it's hard to decide how I truly feel about it!I think the positive aspects of "Book of Night" attract...

I'm so confused because it feels like I just finished a 500-page book...
Book of Night barely clocks in at 300 pages.

I'm about to enter a book-induced coma. Wake me up in 2022. Seriously, Holly Black's *Book of Night* has completely floored me. Consider this your fair warning: prepare to be utterly consumed.
