Hi, I'm Ransom, and I like to tell stories. Sometimes I tell them with words, sometimes with pictures, often with both. I grew up on a farm on the Eastern shore of Maryland and also in a little house by the beach in Englewood, Florida where I got very tan and swam every day until I became half fish. I started writing s...

Those following my reviews will know I recently re-read the original trilogy of this series, and *A Map of Days (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, Book 4)* by Ransom Riggs was the reason why. I'd picked up the fourth book and needed a reminder, especially as this story starts immediately after *The Library of Souls* ended. Obviously, a fourth book was optioned for commercial reasons, but it's an interesting read. As the dust settles after the war, we get to read about the reconstruction and re...

Wait, a fourth book? LORD HAVE MERCY ON MY SOUL.
I'm diving back into Ransom Riggs's world with *A Map of Days (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, Book 4)*. Let's see if this one lives up to the hype. Wish me luck – I might need it for this **book review**!

So, what started as a trilogy has become book 4. Hey, if you're onto a good thing, why not keep it going?I enjoyed this one almost as much as the very first book. It was long, but an easy read, and the pages just flew by. The characters are growing up, which leads to some really interesting scenes. How would you feel if you used to date the grandfather of the guy you're seeing now? And how does *he* deal with the thought that you're still in love with his (dead) granddad? These are the kinds of ...

Wow, have I been living under a rock all this time? I had no idea A Map of Days (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, Book 4) by Ransom Riggs even existed. As far as book reviews go, this series completely escaped my radar!

Ugh, I NEED the next book NOW!!!!Seriously, I could devour 30 books in this series and never get tired of it. I'm obsessed with the world, the characters, the action, the peculiarities – everything! Even though it's been three years since I last read a Ransom Riggs book, opening **A Map of Days (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, Book 4)** felt like reuniting with an old friend and diving right back into a story I'd only just put down. It's one of the best YA fantasy book series out there!I lov...

*groans*They should have stopped at three.I loved the original *Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children*. It had some really novel ideas, interesting characters (Miss Peregrine especially), and a compelling story. When I found out there was going to be a new trilogy, I was excited, but cautious. Looks like I had a right to be.At the end of the *Library Of Souls*, Jacob left the loop and returned home to his parents, who consequently thought he was insane and attempted to have him committed. ...

NOPE. Absolutely not.
I'm trying to keep this professional, but honestly, *A Map of Days (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, Book 4)* by Ransom Riggs was a massive disappointment. This book felt like a completely different series, and not in a good way. The charm, the mystery, the *peculiarity* of the original trilogy? Gone. Replaced with… this.
It's like Ransom Riggs forgot what made his series so special in the first place. The characters are bland, the plot is convoluted, and the new pecul...

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children: 4.25 starsHollow City: 4 starsLibrary of Souls: 3 starsA Map of Days: 3 starsPre-read:The *slight* difference in the color of this book compared to the original trilogy is making me seriously uncomfortable. I'm already side-eyeing it.Post-read:Ransom Riggs really should have stopped at Book 3 (or Book 2, let's be real). *A Map of Days* got way too long, with huge chunks of pages that felt like pure filler. The characters became unbelievably annoying –...

My reaction when, thanks to Tahereh Mafi tweeting about it, I knew this book existed, and all I could say was: I. AM. DECEASED.The fourth book in Riggs' signature series, *A Map of Days*, plays out a bit like *Iron Gold* for me, in that it's long and a little bit on the slow side sometimes, but it does a great job of expanding the world as built in the original trilogy too. Though Riggs doesn't do the four-POV route like Pierce Brown did—once again, Jacob's our sole POV character. But since he's...
