"All I want, is for you to love me. Not because of what I can do or what I look like, or because I love you, just because I am."(2.75 stars)Okay, I just don't get the people giving this book five stars. I'm sorry, but I don't see it. I'm the biggest Outlander fan there is, but I have to admit that this book and the one before it are the most mundane recount of a boring life I've ever stumbled across. Yes, at the beginning of this volume some traumatic things happen, but once that's over, we're f...

I powered through another doorstop of a book! =) But this one made me absolutely bawl my eyes out at the end. Just nooooooooo. I'll get to that later. I still totally loved it though! Okay, I guess I'm going to add some *SPOILERS*So, this review is in no particular order. Like I've said before, I'm listening to these books on audio while marking my place in the physical copy, and they're all starting to blend together. There's just so much happening in **A Breath of Snow and Ashes** by Diana Gab...

I feel like I've practically already written a review with all the updates I've been posting! Where do I even start? We all know these Outlander books are LONG. It's taking me about three weeks on average to read each one. So, you really have to be dedicated to the genre and Diana Gabaldon's writing style to fully appreciate them.\n\nJamie and Claire are living in North Carolina in *A Breath of Snow and Ashes*. Their passion is still burning bright, their love as true as ever. I absolutely adore...

Poor, poor Claire... Diana Gabaldon really put her through the wringer in *A Breath of Snow and Ashes*, didn't she? She had to endure one kidnapping, one gang rape, her husband being accused of getting a young girl pregnant, that same girl then murdered, getting arrested herself, losing her daughter (again!), and her grandchildren to another time. What's a girl gotta do to catch a break? Is it too much to ask that Jamie and Claire get, like, *one* moment of peace? You'd think twenty years apart ...

Still barely any plot to speak of, just folks doing stuff, a few kidnappings, rapes, and births, and a gazillion scenes of Claire patching someone up. But hey, at least Brianna wasn't leaking milk the whole damn time in Diana Gabaldon's "A Breath of Snow and Ashes". Looking for in-depth book reviews? Keep searching!

Where I got the book: audiobook from Audible.I've basically spent the last year glued to the Outlander series, and honestly, at this point, the books are all starting to blur together. A lot of the time, the story isn't really a story so much as this big container holding a ton of smaller stories – some get wrapped up fast, others are left hanging. If things get a little dull, you can bet one of the women is about to get kidnapped, raped, or threatened with kidnap or rape, or all of the above. W...

5 STARS!!!!!!!!! JESUS H. ROOSEVELT CHRIST!!!!!! What can I say that hasn't already been said about Diana Gabaldon and her fabulous Outlander books! This is yet another. Claire and Jamie's story continues here in the wilderness and growing new world of North Carolina. So many mysteries brought to the foreground in this episode, and many more laid out. If you're looking for a great historical fiction read, look no further! Jamie FraserThe American Revolution is in full swing, and Jamie find...

The first book completely absorbed me with its intricate details and fascinating plot. The second book made me angry with its massive time jump, then happy again, while the third maintained my interest. The fourth was a bit slow, and the fifth made me long for all that listening time back because, no matter how many pages an author *should* dedicate to homesteading, Ms. Gabaldon surpassed it tenfold. The sixth frustrated me with its plodding story, obsessive attention to detail, and the continue...

The paperback edition of *A Breath of Snow and Ashes*, the sixth book in the *Outlander* series, clocks in at over 1500 pages, and I'm sorry to say, I didn't savor every single word. Honestly, who could? There are just so damn many of them! Talk about bloated. Diana Gabaldon's editor must really adore her or is just too darn nice for this business. "Kill your darlings" – remember that timeless piece of advice from Mark Twain? I love Jamie and Claire (Roger and Brianna, not so much) and have been...
