Okay, so here's the deal with *23 Burlington Square: A Timeslip Novel*. For about 60% of it, I was more into the concept than the actual story. But that last third? Totally gripping and it just *flies* by. The whole point of Jenni Keer's book is pretty much that appearances can be deceiving, and each "what if" scenario cleverly peels back the layers on the characters. The beginning throws three potential tenants at Ms. Agnes Humphries, and right away, one of them is painted as the villain. Then y...

Jenni Keer offers up a cozy read perfect for your entertainment, featuring the charming spinster Agnes at its heart. Agnes is a collector of all sorts of things: people, objects, and even moments—both tangible and intangible. She has a home and makes a living by renting out rooms. When one of her roomers passes away, Agnes, after properly mourning, needs to get that room rented out again. Thus begins her thoughtful search. This is a gentle read, giving you plenty of opportunities to consider t...

Didn't finish it. Yet another book pushing gay themes. No thanks. It had a promising start, but it's just not something I'm interested in reading. If you're looking for a book review that dives into LGBTQ+ stories, this isn't it. "23 Burlington Square: A Timeslip Novel" by Jenni Keer just wasn't for me.

This audiobook was a truly delightful historical fiction experience! I'd seen *23 Burlington Square: A Timeslip Novel* buzzing around the book blogs, but it was Eva's review that finally convinced me to dive in. And I'm so happy I did, because it’s easily one of my favorite books of the year – I even had a proper book hangover afterward!I absolutely adored spending time with Agnes and the various lodgers of No. 23 Burlington Square. Getting to know each character as they moved into the house and...

I honestly can't put my finger on what made me take a second look at "23 Burlington Square: A Timeslip Novel". The cover, as pretty as it is, isn't usually something that grabs my attention since it's definitely not my usual crime fiction fare. But, for some reason, I decided to read the book blurb and instantly felt so incredibly intrigued that I knew I had to give it a read. The idea that three different choices could lead to three different paths fascinated me right from the start. Alternate t...

In a Nutshell: An unusual 'sliding doors' historical fiction novel, focusing on characters who either live at or aspire to live at the titular address. Imaginative in concept, somewhat slow in pace, interesting plot development, okay character development. A good choice when you want a feel-good story with minimal romance.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Story Synopsis:1927. With the death of a tenant, a room becomes vacant at 23 Burlington Square. The owner, an elderly woman named Agnes Humphries, h...

A thoroughly fun and engrossing read!"23 Burlington Square: A Timeslip Novel" uses a 'Sliding Doors' style premise, focusing on a vacant room in a boarding house. Who will the owner, Agnes Humphries, choose as a tenant: her niece Clara, the sensible and agreeable Stephen, or a widow named Mercy? After the initial chapters, the book splits into three distinct storylines, letting the reader explore how each scenario unfolds. Jenni Keer weaves in plenty of twists and turns as each story progresses, ...

I absolutely loved "23 Burlington Square: A Timeslip Novel"!!! It's a little different from what I usually pick up, and I'm so glad I gave it a read. Agnes Humphries is a spinster whose life was consumed by caring for her sister after her mother's passing, and then her father as his health declined. She meets James, who proposes marriage, but she can't bring herself to abandon her family. When she finds herself alone in Burlington Square, a place she adores, she decides to take in lodgers. Afte...

The core question of Jenni Keer's *23 Burlington Square: A Timeslip Novel* is a universal one: 'What If?' Who hasn’t looked back on their life and pondered that question, wondering where a different decision might have led them? This book review explores how Keer masterfully plays with this concept. It’s 1927, and No. 23 Burlington Square is the delightfully cluttered domain of Miss Agnes Humphries. She cherishes the house bequeathed to her by her beloved father, filled with items that evoke wo...

Magnificent! What can I even say about **23 Burlington Square: A Timeslip Novel**…Okay, so, number 23 is the home of Agnes Humphries, who takes in boarders to pay for the upkeep of this magnificent Kensington home. She has (through unfortunate circumstances) a room to let and has three folks to interview. She likes all three, (I, too, was intrigued by all three), and so decides on who to rent the room to. The book, in three parts, then tells the 'sliding doors' story of what happens when she cho...
