Dakota has two passions in life: writing and cinnamon tea. Tea so strong she ought to be able to see her future when she drinks it, and the writing? Well she hopes it makes you see stars when you read it. She creates reverse harem romance novels filled with things that go bump in the night. That handsome werewolf walki...

The Price of Possession is book one in the Pizza Shop Exorcist series by Dakota Brown. This was my first taste of Brown. I liked the concept of a Punk Rock Pizza shop owner getting dragged back into the occult and wiping the floor of demons. I found that interesting, but the book soon turned, meh. To start Chris, our heroine, has a complicated relationship with Darius the X Best Friend and a past that made her give up being an Exorcist, but when Darius waltz’s back into her life and says; ‘I need...

4.7 stars.
So far I’m really enjoying this.
It’s started out pretty strong, and we didn’t have to wait very long at all for things to get steamy, which I very much appreciate.
I’m liking the characters and all of their different paranormal proclivities.
The plot is just getting started, but so far I really enjoy what’s happened.

I’m excited to see where this all goes and who all will be in her harem by the end.
This was fun.

DNF 30%This was a really bizarre book and not because of the subject matter. Both the author and the protagonist are American but the protagonist throws "mate" into conversation so much that she sounds like an aussie on meth. Every time it happened, it knocked me completely out of the story and, holy crap, it happened a lot. Like almost every other sentence of dialogue. I lived in the UK and I know Australians and I've *never* met anyone who uses that term so much.I know it sounds incredibly nit...

DNF at 64%.This wasn't bad, I just lost patience with it.If the MC said mate one more time I was going to scream. I can't remember whether she was supposed to be British or Australian, but either way it was incredibly annoying and absurd.I also am not a fan of fast burn and the relationships in this were pretty much instantaneous to the point where I wasn't really interested in it.There is a plot, but it feels very much like a side story to the not very interesting relationships.I don't like to ...

I love it when books meet expectations. This one piqued my interest from the series name. Pizza shop exorcist? Sign me up. I didn't look at the blurb before reading so the reveals were new. I judged a book by its cover and this time got lucky. I'm more for the characters and the world building than the plot in this one.The pizza place. Its a hideout but an interactive one. I liked the set up, how the gang always ends up at the place. Then you've got Billy and the girls embracing Chris' past and ...

I DNF this book at around 40%. When I read the blurb I was like sign me up ASAP. I downloaded the book on KU right away. A pizza restaurant owner who is also an exorcist? Totally up my alley. However, I was left disappointed. Chris, the FMC, left the supernatural world behind when a demon prince slaughtered her family. Five years later, her friend Darius comes up to her and ask for her help. For someone who give up being an exorcist after a traumatic event, she is willing to help him too easily....

3.5 stars!! It was super cute and unique! I really enjoyed myself and found moments where I laughed out loud! The book was fast paced and chaotic, and I think that added character and charm to the book. I’m definitely intrigued and will read the second book! The ending was interesting and mysterious that I want to know what’s going to happen!!Also, the FMC was described of having this punk like attitude and attire with short hair... but in my mind I had her with shaved sides and longer on top to...

Mate, mate, mate.

description

I didn't think this would bother me this much.
I mean I read the reviews that said this fudging word was over used and I thought I could just ignore it.
I was wrong, mate.

description

The story was good but I kinda feel meh now that I finished it. I am not curious enough to pick up the next book.

‘80’s pits

I nope’d it out in chapter 1. The author built her female
protagonist out of the used, chewed up gum left by every other writer who came before. The fmc is a short, lying, b*+ch, who is supposedly “cool” and/or “tough” because she has pierced ears, a tattoo, and the personality of a full diaper.
