I think the goddaughter and godfather relationship was done really well. Seeing David's side as they head to see his wife made it better too. The struggles he went through felt real, and I was glad it didn't veer into "all alcoholics are violent" territory.

interesting read

I really liked Chloe. This isn’t a genre I read often. I like the world the story has. The characters are great. David worried me. I’m glad things worked out for him. Chloe’s world was really sad at first. I’m glad she found her purpose and got through the darkness. I liked the little quotes and saying at the beginning of the chapters.

This was an amazing and refreshing fantasy book! Book two is set several years after book one, and Chloe, after the loss of her twin, runs away from home to go with her Godfather, David. It was hard to see David as an alcoholic since I liked him book one, but the war changed him. You finally get to see things from his point of view. This is one credible action packed fantasy novel. I've only gotten into reading fantasy lately. While I find most overly descriptive, Chloe's Purpose was clearly written with emotions that got to me. For someone who recently lost a grandma i could easily relate to Chloe's pain. I'm hoping to order a hardcopy soon.

Mannino crafted a redemptive journey like no other. Chloe's Purpose is another shinning light in Mannino's series. I'm looking forward to the journey continuing.
