This book was probably 4 stars but I'm giving it 5 for the overall series and reading experience. I feel like this was very much one of those right books, at the right time, in the right mood situations, cause I really loved this from start to finish and it's been a joy to have these books keep me company over the last week (although they also sometimes hurt my heart alot). That being said, this is not the easiest series of books to love. Yes, there is a delicious, very dark and very true slow b...

**SPOILERS** There was never a good moment to set this book down, something detrimental was always happening!! I swear, the world was either burning or they were talking about how to prevent the world from burning 😂. I loved it all the same though, this trilogy has been a complete five star for me and I’m going to miss them so much!! There were more perspectives in this book than the rest, including Vasili’s point of view. Which was very interesting since he’s the character whose thoughts are a...

Read this final installment of the trilogy if you love the characters, Vasili and Niko, not for the resolution of the fantasy plot. To be fair, for the most part, a good balance of action and smut kept me going - aided by a triple POV of Niko, Vasili and Yasir and generally good writing. Sadly, the big (predictable) showdown at the end had me confused and focused too much on incongruous developments; characters’ actions and the whole flame magic sometimes just didn’t make sense to me. It also fe...

"I no longer need to go to sea to be free," Vasili said. He reached out and pinched the daisy stem between his fingers, taking it from Niko to tuck behind his ear. "You brought freedom to me." His fingers slipped between Niko's, capturing his hand, and drew him close.✧ you can hate or love Vasili, but you can't deny this man's complexity was so... intriguing. Vasili is a perfect example of my fav type of character: complex. flawed. cunning. broken. and yet, as the story goes on, we see bits and ...

“who wants a good man when they can have a vicious prince?” 🖤i am so EMO because of this series… Niko and Vasili absolutely destroyed me and i loved every moment of it. first of all, i absolutely loved the fact that Vasili had his own POV in this book, since books 1 and 2 were just Niko’s POV. this book also had the occasional Yasir POV too. gotta loooove multiple POVS! 😌this series was so fucking tragic at times, i lost count of how many times i just wanted to scream and punch someone/som...

Re-read: 30.06.2021 Will there perhaps be a spin-off series centering around Lasher, the elf? I'm not sure I'd ever love an elf from this world but he did have "some" redeemable moments so maybe? That said, I actually want more of Niko and Vasili's journey. I feel like this wasn't enough. I understand that there's a 3.5 book as well, - which I'm gonna read next - but I feel like that won't be enough. I think that Vasili is such a complex character that his story can go on forever. ⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Mi...

4 'Adamo is the best fictional horse ever' starsThe fantasy elements in this book are fantastic. Seriously, this book could easily be regarded as epic fantasy. I loved the expanded magic system, we learned more about the flame and its purpose. Also, the fights (with magic or without) are written very well. The story picks up right where it ended in the previous book and the fast pace makes you hold your breath in anticipation the entire time. I can't remember when was the last time I was so nervo...
