It started promising and catchy - deadly virus, time travel... But it got too dark and depressing quite fast. A bit too much rape attempts and murder for my taste. Yet I’m tempted to read the sequel.

Hard to put down
At first, I really struggled to get in to this book but it was very short lived. I had a hard time putting it down. There were plenty of instances where I was pleasantly surprised by where the book went. I didn’t see several of the twists coming. Definitely hoping book 2 is as exhilarating.

I very interesting and compelling novel. Can not wait till the next book. The continuation of this series gives me hope.

Deadly viruses, time travel, superhuman abilities: this book combined many interesting features, but for me, it didn't quite hit the mark. The idea that time travel doesn't have to be consistent with the past (so you can kill your grandfather?) meant that characters died at frequent intervals then popped up again later.
Not one for me.
Not one for me.

First, I have to admit that the author and I were Fraternity brothers in college and shared a hallway our senior year (go Tribe). Second, when I just found he was a published author, I'll admit surprise - just didn't dawn on me he'd be a writer. And third - this was a damn fun book. It was Turnage's first and it was a great debut. It's a doomsday scenario with time travel, presidential politics, various almost love interests, nano bots, amputations and cool lasers....I mean, can you beat it? Yes,...

A fairly good thriller about a mysterious virus that wipes out practically everyone on Earth. A few remaining survivors have to reach a deep secret research project in order to use a time machine. In between, many forces try to wipe them out. The book has a good deal of action and the science fiction aspects of the story are interesting. My only complaint is the book was written as a duology and leaves almost all questions unanswered in the end.

Abandoned on 4/12/16Spoilers? Maybe? I admit, I only made it 3-4 chapters into this book, perhaps it got better? All the male characters so far were misognistic assholes who seemed to have serious virgin/whore complexes about women, or god-complex scientists. The female characters were worse - mere caricatures of women (the hot intern, the brainy hot scientist who spills all the CLASSIFIED SECRETS!). I'm not sure how we were supposed to sympathize with them. Bonus, apparently the entire human rac...

This was a quick, enthralling read. There were a few errors int he text but otherwise it was fine. A very plot driven novel about a deadly nanovirus and the possibilities of time travel. The first half of the book was fantastic. But I felt the second half was a bit rushed with lots of action. A few open ended questions were raised that I would have liked to see resolved. I will read book two and hope I get them then.

Extermination Day is a truly fast paced story with absolutely no filler "stuff" that takes up room and time to get to the 'meat' of the story. One doesn't often find a story or book like that!People of the earth are surprised by a sudden meteor storm as well as traveling through it's dusty tail. But in doing so, the tail leaves a deadly virus on the earth. About an hour after the earth passes thought the tail, people start getting sick--very sick-- and begin to die horrible deaths. The only peop...
