I usually avoid YA but decided to download Chasing Echoes due to the blurb and because it was a Kindle freebie. What a pleasant surprise! It reminded me of Groundhog Day (it does mention the movie), but the way I see it, it's closer to Before I Fall. The redemption idea and time loop concept are wrapped in a more positive and enjoyable story here.

Note: I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review and that’s what the review is going to be – honest. And like any of my other reviews, I’ll keep it completely spoiler-free.
Introduction
We do not possess imagination enough to sense what we are missing.- Jean ToomerEvery chapter in the book begins with a quote, and the above is from the third chapter. Before getting into the rest of the review, I have to say the quotes at the beginning of each chapter are perfect fo...

With her book Chasing Echoes, Jodi Perkins takes the readers on an amazing journey of conflicts, special powers, self-discovery, and tension-filled situations. Jodi deserves full credit for writing a memorable romance book which relies on clean and pure emotions of its characters, instead of using repeated doses of unnecessary sex scenes that many of today's writers use as a device to make up for their lack of writing talent. That's why Jodi's talent as an author becomes even more apparent in th...

Chasing Echoes had me at its first line- "it all started because of a RAT". I had no idea what to expect reading that first line, but I knew for sure I was in for a great ride on the fantasy train. And I wasn't disappointed. I loved that Chasing Echoes focused on a ingenious story-line, exploring a genre of the fantastical world that hasn't been written to death. And not just that, the humor and catfights between the MCs Taz and Stryder had me laughing times without number it is hard to pick a f...

Chasing Echoes by Jodi Perkins was an exciting paranormal romance that I really couldn't put down. Written in a sweet, engaging style, there was fun, action, plenty of drama, beautiful descriptions and a story-line that kept me guessing throughout. The characters developed nicely as the tale progressed with a nice development of tension which kept me reading through the wee small hours of the morning. This book is suitable for all lovers of fantasy/supernatural suspense. I'll be looking for the ...

Chasing Echoes was such a fantastic read, I struggled to put it down and chose reading one more chapter over sleep several times! (Quite a big deal for a mother of a three month old.)The characters are wonderful, and like many great authors, Jodi Perkins does a fantastic job of creating a real relationship between the reader and her characters. I adore the way she made me hate and love Stryder at the same time. The dynamic of the sisters, and clear separation between their personalities makes me...

I was able to read this book as a Beta reader. I couldn't put the book down. I finished to book in 3 days and it would have been faster if I didn't have kids. The plot is very fresh and new. The characters come to life as soon as you start reading and you will find yourself rooting for them to find the answers. This book will make you laugh and want to cry. This a book was written for young adults but anyone would love this story. I'm excited to read more books from this series.

Whoa. What an exciting novel. It was the perfect mix of intensity and comedy with a totally unique concept that you just don't see in YA books. One page I'm laughing and the next I'm holding my breath on the edge of my seat. With endearing characters and an engaging plotline, I felt like I was part of the story. This novel is well written and fascinating from start to finish.

I cannot recommend this book enough!!! The plot is remarkably fresh and well thought out. The story moves at a brisk and entertaining pace, and the characters are loveable. This is such a creative, well-woven story. The main plot involves Taz and Stryder, enemies who are trapped in a shrinking time loop together. What is remarkable is as the time loop kept shrinking, the faster I found myself turning the pages. As a reader, I could FEEL the tightening of the time loop. There is also a sub-plot, ...
