4.5 EPIC-NESS STARS
Blake Crouch's *Wayward Pines: Wayward* delivers a hefty dose of epic-ness. If you're hunting for a book review that tells you whether this book is worth your time, let me make it simple: it is. Crouch grabs you from page one and doesn't let go. The suspense is killer, and the twists? Forget about it. I'm talking mind-blowing stuff.
This isn't just your average thriller; it's a full-blown psychological rollercoaster. The kind that leaves you questioning everything you thoug...

The story just keeps getting tighter and more depressing. "This is the last town on Earth, and we're surrounded by monsters." Okay, but what *are* the "abbies," and who's responsible for Alyssa's death? What's David up to, and what does Hassler *really* want? Can Ethan actually rescue this town and his family? Is the festival even going to go as planned? Once you've started the first part of this trilogy, this second volume of *Wayward Pines: Wayward* by Blake Crouch is an absolute must-read. It...

My first review of 2020 has left me a bit stumped.
*Wayward Pines: Wayward*, the second book in Blake Crouch’s *Wayward Pines* trilogy, picks up right where book one left off. The problem with reviewing this installment is that any mention of the book’s setting or plot will immediately be a major spoiler for book one.
However, our hero Ethan Burke, FBI special agent and all-around good guy, is still stranded in the strange community of Wayward Pines… white picket fences, handsome Victorian bui...

I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to review this book. You absolutely need to read the first Wayward Pines book (PINES) before diving into Wayward Pines: Wayward, and I'm determined not to give away any of the shocking twists. So, I'll keep this brief.A successful trilogy usually follows this recipe:The first book introduces an intriguing situation, capped off with a mind-blowing twist. The second book throws everything into chaos, forces you to choose a side in the conflict, dis...

Having all three books in the *Wayward Pines: Wayward* series ready to go when I started reading "Wayward" was a huge advantage. I can't imagine having to wait for the next installment of a story that completely captivated me, as I tried to understand the twists and turns unfolding page after page. In the second part, you delve even deeper into "Wayward," a place that could truly be described with the most contradictory terms imaginable. PARADISE and HELL - DEATH and RESURRECTION TRUTH and LIES ...

"I know what they need. Perfection all the time would drive them mad. For every perfect little town, there’s something ugly underneath. No dream without the nightmare.”
We all have secrets we carry around with us. As a species we aren’t really good at keeping secrets, even those rattling skeletons that could prove detrimental to our lives. In the end, most of us end up telling somebody. You can swear someone to secrecy, but the same itch, the same need to tell someone that compelled you to te...

When Ethan Burke, sheriff of Wayward Pines, stumbles upon a body, he's tasked with investigating her murder. But what does the deceased have to do with Burke's ex-partner and former lover? And how will Theresa feel about her husband spending time with his old flame again?I received this book from Netgalley. After the jaw-dropping reveal at the end of *Wayward Pines: Wayward*, I was pretty sure *Wayward Pines: Wayward* would suffer from the dreaded sophomore slump. It absolutely did not.Instead of...
