Astra's a Sentinel, but life's a struggle. PTSD haunts her, and her romance with Atlas tanked her rep. Now, a time-bending anarchist scrambled the future, leaving Astra with obsolete intel. A deadly murder from the *old* future looms—unless she can solve it before it happens, Blackstone's a goner. C...

A very enjoyable superhero novel. The plot development in *Villains Inc.* progresses nicely, and it offers some compelling hooks that kept me engaged. Recommended.

The plot's direction always held my interest. A well-meaning doctor joins Hope, Kelly, and Jackie’s crew to avert the impending end of the world. He explains the multiverse, helps unravel some mysteries, and then the book just… ends. And it freaking itches me! The concept was always there, but the payoff is consistently underwhelming, and the characters are a total letdown. You could find more personality in a roll of wallpaper than Marion G. Harmon manages to give them in "Villains Inc.". Hones...

Villains Inc. (Wearing The Cape #2) by Marion G. Harmon Astra, aka Hope Corrigan, is back in action. This time, she's battling a Godzilla-like beast while trying to keep it away from the public and her not-so-super friends, who she brought along on a weekend getaway. This seems pretty standard for our superhero. Like many others, I had some doubts about whether Marion G. Harmon could live up to the first book in this series. Right from the start, this one doesn't disappoint. Astra is reunited...

Villains Inc. picks up a few months after Wearing the Cape ends. Astra's in a rough spot, becoming tabloid fodder thanks to some missteps she's made between books. None of these are particularly awful from the reader's perspective, but it's easy to imagine the tabloids twisting facts to sell papers. On top of that, Astra's still reeling from losing Atlas, the love of her life, in the Ring attack at Whittier Base. Then Godzilla strikes—or at least a Godzilla-like creature—and we're immediately r...

I think *Villains Inc.* is better than the first book. It's very action-oriented. I could totally see this being turned into a movie, mainly because the action almost never stops. Because of that, I think the book is a little light on character development, but it works pretty well. The characters remain likeable, and Astra has a new costume that's a little more adult (even if it does make me feel like a dirty old man for even imagining it).The book could *really* use a proofreader. That's norma...

A fun, upbeat superhero story definitely worth checking out. Astra returns in Marion G. Harmon's second novel, *Villains Inc.*, and it kicks off immediately with a bang: a monster fight (think Godzilla proportions!), followed by a superpowered robbery and a murder. The story grabs you from the start and keeps the momentum going. We meet new characters, and the existing ones get plenty of room to develop and really shine. Harmon continues to build a fascinating world.Overall, *Villains Inc.* deli...

The second *Wearing the Cape* installment, where life, as they say, goes on. Take the opening scene, for example: Hope's trying to chill with her friends when suddenly, a freakin' Godzilla emerges from Lake Michigan, heading straight for the pier! (Spoilers ahead for the first book, so be warned!)She chats with Shelly about it, and it turns out these Godzilla appearances are happening "early" – way before they should have, based on the timeline before the Teatime Anarchist messed things up, the ...

Seriously disappointed. As a sequel, I was expecting further character development and a real chance to get to know the world that Marion G. Harmon built. What I found was just an extension of the original, with nothing particularly new for Astra to explore. There's another threat where numerous super powers are thrown together in action scenes almost every chapter. And in the middle of all this are appearances from a team of villains that we really don't learn much about. With so little famili...

It's rare for a sequel to truly live up to the original, but Marion G. Harmon has absolutely nailed it with Villains Inc. I find it hard to articulate exactly what I love so much about this series. I think the author captures at least some of it in the afterword included in Villains Inc. Superhero mythos and archetypes are near and dear to so many of us. We grew up with them and the very real stories of human struggles they told. They resonate deeply with those of us who enjoy such things, and H...

Godzilla attacks Navy Pier in the first chapter. That alone earns it 5 stars! Even with the somewhat saccharine happy endings in the sequel—still 5 stars, all thanks to the down-to-earth and witty dialogue. If you're looking for a fun superhero book review, check out Marion G.
