Before I dive into this review, I have a little story to tell about this book, Velocity. I was looking for something to read last month and I came across Steve Worland's Velocity on my "To Read" list. So I grab my Nook and go to download it. But it's not available! And I hate it when that happens. For some reason, I see it as a challenge... OH, you don't want me to read this book, Barnes & Noble?!? Well, guess what, I'm totally going to use my Kindle app then!! That will show B & N! Read about ...

You're constantly kept guessing as Steve Worland takes you on a truly hair-raising ride in Velocity, with just the right amount of humor to lighten the mood. Our two main characters, along with Spike the dog, are repeatedly saved by surprisingly believable, simple solutions from seemingly impossible situations.

A quick and entertaining read that ends on a total cliffhanger!

Bring on the sequel!

Whenever a new thriller author appears, especially an Australian one, someone inevitably compares them to Matthew Reilly. You can almost guarantee this comparison comes from someone who hasn't actually read Matthew Reilly or the new author. But finally, we have an author where that comparison actually *works*.

Absolutely worth checking out. If you're looking for fast-paced thrillers, Steve Worland's "Velocity" delivers.

Velocity is all about the action – a non-stop joyride that rockets from NASA headquarters to the stark, unforgiving landscape of central Australia, where thievery knows no limits and a burning thirst for revenge reigns supreme. Astronaut Judd Bell is a man consumed by insecurity and haunted by the tragic loss of a close friend. His unhealthy dependence on his workplace romance-turned-live-in partner, Rhonda, is not only driving him to distraction but also pushing away the very thing that holds h...

I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.I regret that I didn't read *Velocity* sooner! And this NEEDS to be made into a movie because it's the perfect action flick! It's jam-packed with excitement from the beginning, it's funny, it's dangerous, it even includes love—and it takes you to the extreme.*Velocity*, by Steve Worland, is mainly about thirty-year-old astronaut Judd Bell. At the beginning of the book, he witnesses his best friend die in the explosion of the Columbia, a...

My giveaway copy arrived already! After reading all the reviews, I was a little surprised. Only 10 reviews? Just 10? Why? *Velocity* is a fantastic book with clearly thorough research behind it. Has anyone else read *Velocity*? I'm not talking to those teens who adore YA. Yes, they write most of the reviews. But they also read and praise some of the worst books I've ever come across. I'm asking all adult readers who love suspense, thrillers, or anything similar: come on, this is really worth rea...

I'm always up for a solid adventure/thriller/action novel, and *Velocity* delivers on all fronts. Some stick-in-the-muds might whine, "Oh, that's impossible!" but hey, it's fiction – anything goes! That's precisely what I loved about *Velocity* by Steve Worland. It's a breezy, thoroughly entertaining read. If you're looking for exciting book reviews, look no further.

I wasn't sure what to expect from Steve Worland's Velocity, but it's endorsed by Hugh Jackman, and that's good enough for me! Having lost his nerve after witnessing the death of his best friend in the explosion that destroyed the *Columbia*, NASA astronaut Judson Bell realizes, when he crashes the simulated space shuttle, *Discovery*, for the third time, that he won't ever make it back into space. When the *Atlantis* is cleared for the next mission, Judd's newly ex-girlfriend and fellow astronau...

Judd Bell used to have it all. He was at the top of his game as an astronaut, the man of the moment. And he had a beautiful, smart girlfriend named Rhonda who worked alongside him at NASA. There was no denying that Judd Bell was going places. But then the space shuttle Columbia is lost, taking with it Judd’s best friend, and the man of the moment loses his mojo. His career is suddenly going in a downward spiral, not rising up through the roof, and it’s Rhonda who is rising. When she is chosen t...
