When I am not writing, I toss tennis balls to my cadre of dogs. My house is filled with books and dogs, you can smell both when you walk in the front door. It's a good smell.I have 36 published novels and am currently writing in the mystery genre. My latest mystery, The Dead of Winter, was a finalist for the Claymore A...

Two of my absolute favorite things: short stories and time travel tales!
This collection centers around an agency called Timeshares, which offers trips... through time. The stories are penned by different authors and explore diverse eras and events, but they're all a blast.
Naturally, some are more enjoyable than others, but it's sadly underrated when you look at lists of time travel books. Jean Rabe's "Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales" deserves more attention!

This is a delightful little anthology of short stories centered around Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales, a company that offers time travel experiences to tourists. Penned by Jean Rabe, the stories span a wide spectrum, from intimate personal narratives to grand political dramas and beyond. We see characters exploring different facets of the past, driven by personal motivations that range from the purely altruistic to the downright sinister. I snagged this book second-hand at a bo...

The masterminds behind this anthology conjured up Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales (a time travel agency, naturally). Then, they challenged various authors to craft short stories featuring this agency. The outcome? A wonderfully diverse collection, spanning from the intricate to the straightforward, the grounded to the intellectual, the hilarious to the deeply philosophical. I found enjoyment in each and every story, though some resonated with me more than others. The tales whisk...

Most of the stories in *Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales* are incredibly short and lack any real depth. Some are just downright awful. Very little about them is even remotely memorable enough to warrant a second thought. If you're looking for engaging time travel books, this isn't it.

Like any anthology, *Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales* has its ups and downs. Mostly ups, for me. How cool would it be if a new streaming series used the time travel agency as its central idea? Netflix, Amazon, are you listening? On a completely different note, I'm officially putting out a request to any time travelers out there: I'm looking for a copy of that legendary recording of John Lennon collaborating with Bonham, Entwistle, Johnson, and Strummer. Seriously, hit me up if yo...

Includes my story, "A Night to Forget" by C.A. Verstraete—a woman finds a visit to an exhibit about the Titanic far more real than she bargained for. You'll find it within the pages of Jean Rabe's **Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales**. If you're looking for some captivating **sci-fi and fantasy book reviews**, you've found one here: I highly recommend checking out **Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales** by Jean Rabe!

Anthologies can be a real mixed bag for me. Usually, if I'm really into the main idea, I find it harder to get into the individual stories. But if I'm only mildly curious about the premise and picking up the book more for the authors involved, I tend to enjoy it a lot more. That's definitely the case with "Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales" by Jean Rabe. I was interested in six of the authors for various reasons, and the whole time-travel premise was intriguing enough to grab my a...

[Full disclosure: I have a story in this anthology. I will not be discussing my story in this review.]"Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales" starts with a simple premise: Where – no, *when* – would you go if you could go on vacation anywhen in time?Like most people, I’ve been exposed to lots of time travel stories. The 19 stories all imagine the time-vacation agency in slightly different ways, which keeps each story in "Timeshares: A Collection of Time-Traveling Tales" fresh. Some st...

The not-so-good: What started out as a great sci-fi concept, turned out to be a little less interesting (from a sci-fi standpoint) than orignally anticipated. Most of the stories were written by authors from different genres, making each not only done in a slightly different writing style (to be expected), but also handled the common threads of the book in a completely chaotic fashion (somewhat surprising). Most were period pieces, many only included one or two quick references to anything remot...
