This is the story of two good friends, the physicist Adrian Shelborne (nicknamed "Shel") and Dave, his simpler friend, who has always remained in his shadow. They both fall in love with the same woman, but Adrian wins her over, and Dave silently eats his heart out, watching them happy together without a word. When "Shel's" father, known as a genius physicist, disappears as if swallowed by the earth, the two discover that he built a time machine, and together they use that machine to search for h...

Not quite as brilliant as I recalled from my first read years back. "Time Travelers Never Die" by Jack McDevitt, while still enjoyable, didn't pack the same punch this time around. If you're looking for engaging science fiction book reviews, this one is an okay choice.

Okay, so here's the thing. I'm not usually one to tear through a book in four days, so the fact that I devoured "Time Travelers Never Die" has to count for something, right? I'm really torn on how to review this one. I'm a total sucker for time travel stories, and I'm a big fan of Jack McDevitt, so even though this wasn't the best time travel story ever, and it wasn't McDevitt's strongest work, I can't honestly say I hated it. Ultimately, I'd say it wasn't amazing, but it was a quick, entertaini...

A rather light and fluffy science fiction read, somewhat reminiscent of Bill & Ted, but without the over-the-top silliness. The plot of *Time Travelers Never Die* by Jack McDevitt isn't driven by much conflict; it's more about adventuring and sightseeing. If you're looking for easy-going science fiction, this might be for you. It's a fun, quick read, perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Consider it a light science fiction book review for those who enjoy a less intense space adventure.

We're always told not to judge a book by its cover, but I can't help setting my expectations based on the back cover blurb, even though it's usually written by some marketing person who probably didn't even crack the book open. Sometimes I'm let down when those expectations aren't met. But then there are times when a book surprises you in the best possible way. That's exactly what happened with *Time Travelers Never Die*.If I had to sum up Jack McDevitt's *Time Travelers Never Die* in a single s...

Better than I expected. Though there were moments where Shel and Dave, the main characters, seemed a little too flippant with their time-traveling gadget, it’s still a solid read if you're into time travel stories. Jack McDevitt's *Time Travelers Never Die* is a worthwhile addition to the genre. If you're looking for engaging book reviews about time travel, give this one a shot.

When I was a little girl, there was a show on TV called *The Time Tunnel*. It was one of my favorites. Those time travelers were so cute. Later on, I fell in love with H.G. Wells' *The Time Machine*. My favorite episodes of *The Twilight Zone* and *Star Trek* involved time travel. I even used to watch those old *Dr. Who* shows on PBS and want to go traveling with the Doctor in the Tardis. *Time Travelers Never Die* by Jack McDevitt is an old-fashioned time travel novel that reminds me a lot of ...

Time Travelers Never Die is about a science fiction writer named Jack McDevitt who's read a bunch of historical biographies and decides to write a novel that incorporates them all, even though there's no rhyme or reason why a time traveler would pick these random points in history. The "story" begins with David attending his friend Shel's funeral, only to find, upon returning home, that Shel is waiting for him. Shel and Dave are time travelers, so the fact that they die at some point in time do...

The person who read Time Travelers Never Die before me complained about it, saying she didn't want a history lesson with her book. I love history, and I thought that a time travel story without a bit of history would be a lame time travel story indeed, so I picked it up after her. Now I kind of understand where she was coming from. This book is all about the history, with its time travel. Boy, is it ever. The characters really live it up in every possible moment in history (except the ones that ...

A typical Jack McDevitt book: it keeps you completely engrossed, even if you try not to question the core ideas too much. Our bumbling but lovable heroes, Shel and Dave, travel through history and have a ton of adventures, mostly because they're so inept. The brief appearances of Aristarchus of Alexandria, the civil rights leaders of the '60s, and some of the Founding Fathers are the highlights, with a Borgia and some Southern thugs being suitably menacing. It has a great ending, and **Time Trav...
