A cute, quick read. Honestly, I'd probably have given "Three Lives to Live" by Anne Lindbergh a higher rating if I'd read it when I was younger. As a tween, I definitely would have loved it! A great book for young readers.

I absolutely adored "Three Lives to Live" as a kid! I seriously can't wait to pick it up and read it again. Anne Lindbergh really crafted something special.

I finally found "Three Lives to Live"! Every once in a while, I'd remember this amazing book I read when I was younger about time travel and a laundry chute, but I could never remember what it was called! So glad I rediscovered Anne Lindbergh's "Three Lives to Live" – a real gem for fans of time travel books.

My mom mentioned *Three Lives to Live* by Anne Lindbergh one day because she wanted to read it with me, and I was curious, so I said yes.
Seriously, one of my absolute FAVORITE books EVER!!!
Positive: The story was beautiful and mysterious, and Garet writing her story as an autobiography... I have to say, she is one MARVELOUS writer! I admit, if the story wasn't in her autobiography format, it wouldn't be nearly as amusing.
Also, like I said, it's mysterious in a good way, because of the "tim...

A genuinely clever and original children's book. The plot in Anne Lindbergh's "Three Lives to Live" is a bit timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly, but it makes enough sense within the story's own logic. It also subtly offers some food for thought regarding the nature versus nurture debate – you know, how much of who we are comes from our DNA, how much from our environment, and how much is just our own free will? When a kids' book can naturally bring up questions like that, you know it's well written. Defin...

I FOUND IT!For years, I've occasionally thought about this book. I vividly remembered reading a really good book, narrated by a girl living with her grandmother and involving time travel down a laundry chute. I had no idea what the title was or who the author was, so I despaired of ever finding it again and even started to think it was just some weird, convoluted dream. Yet I remembered certain tiny details, like the fact that the girl's twin sister organized her books by color, starting with th...

Anne Lindbergh, daughter of the famous Charles Lindbergh and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, penned several novels, and *Three Lives to Live* stands out as one of her finest. A recurring theme in many of her books is time travel, and this one is no exception.
While the time travel aspect is introduced relatively early in the narrative, the unexpected twist at the conclusion elevates the story to greatness, and it's the main reason I'm giving it a 5-star rating. I genuinely wasn't expecting it, and it co...

I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Three Lives to Live!!!! I think I first read Anne Lindbergh's novel back in elementary school, maybe early middle school?? But I've thought about this book constantly over the years (and I'm in college now). I've even had dreams where something like the phenomenon in the book happens – like going down a pipe and ending up in a different world or time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! I've been searching for Three Lives to Live for SO MANY YEARS!... because I was convinced the main ...

I read "Three Lives to Live" years ago, and I'm so glad I rediscovered it on this site! I remembered the cover and that I liked the story, along with some basic plot points, but not much else. Finding it again feels like a real treat, and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy and experience Anne Lindbergh's writing all over again! Definitely adding this to my list of comfort reads.

Re-re-read, Feb 2024: I love rereading my childhood faves when I have a head cold. *Three Lives to Live* is still pretty delightful, although the fact that Garet is dieting at age 12 gave me the icks on this go around. Ahh, the 90s. Re-read, March 2008: As a child, I read this book so many times I still have parts of it memorized. I just had the inspiration to see if Anne Lindbergh had published anything else since I grew up, only to find that she died in 1993. Where have I been?? Sigh.Garet liv...
