1. Science Fiction
2. A centuries-old mystery, unsolved for ages, now ensnares ten-year-old Aaron! Initially, Aaron thinks Jake is just messing with him, spinning tales of a boy who once lived in his house and vanished without a trace after some bizarre event. But soon, Aaron starts to believe Jake might be telling the truth…

Okay, so I know *The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure* by Todd A. Fonseca is aimed at younger readers, but it kept showing up in my searches for new time travel books on Kindle. So, I thought, why not? And honestly, I was really surprised! It's a genuinely engaging and fun story, even for adults, and the characters are smart and interesting. I was a tiny bit bummed that Aaron and Jake didn't actually get to *travel* through time in this one. As I read, I kept wondering where they'd end up ...

After reading Todd Fonseca's The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure, one word springs to mind: charming. It's a genuinely wholesome and fun story with a whole lot of heart. While I'm a big fan of YA books, this one seems geared towards a slightly younger audience than I usually read, with the main character being 10 years old. I thought that might make it a bit dull for a 40-something like me, but I was totally wrong. I was completely engrossed. The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure remin...

As he tries to find the source, he stumbles upon an old barn at the back of the property. Inside, he discovers a trunk filled with curious objects. The discovery of a map and a page from the missing boy’s diary sets Aaron and Jake...

This book transported me back to when I was an avid 10-year-old reader, which is both ironic and apt since it features 10-year-old time travelers. But I’ve gotten ahead of myself (yet more time traveling) as I pen this review about a most wonderful young adult novel – *The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure* by Todd A. Fonseca. I typically don't read much fiction geared towards pre-teens and those in their early teenage years, having left that period of my life decades behind. Prior to *The ...

Delightful, wholesome, and intelligent reading for young and not-so-young adults. I remain charmed and delighted after finishing Todd Fonseca’s The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure. As other reviewers point out, this is the story of two youngsters: a brilliant boy who has recently relocated from the city to the country, and an adventurous farm girl. Tom Sawyer-style, they embark upon adventures that lead them to very unexpected places. I don’t want to reveal more of the story, though the t...

At first glance, "The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure" seems like your typical YA sci-fi adventure story. The plot starts out simple enough: a young boy, Aaron, and his tomboy friend, Jake, stumble upon an ancient mystery of the universe – a time machine. But this story is more than just a fun adventure for young readers. It's also a subtle learning experience. Todd Fonseca cleverly weaves a wealth of life lessons into the pages of his story.
I was pleasantly surprised to find "The Time ...

Pleasant, informative, and fun!Todd Fonseca's "The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure" is a story about Aaron, a 10-year-old boy who's just moved from Minneapolis to the Amish countryside of Pennsylvania. He and his new friend Jake (a know-it-all girl, kind of like Hermione Granger without the wand) discover a hidden time machine and uncover how it sparked a spooky legend about a young Amish boy who disappeared a century ago.Fonseca tells the story mostly from Aaron's perspective, and it tou...

Todd A. Fonseca's "The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure" is a fantastic read, perfect for kids and adults alike. Fonseca has a real talent for crafting realistic and likeable characters, from Aaron's parents to the main duo, 10-year-old best friends Aaron and Jake. I found myself laughing out loud several times at Fonseca's clever way with words. It's a genuinely fun children's book. For adults, reading "The Time Cavern: An Aaron & Jake Adventure" is like stepping back into a time when the ...
