As the 6th book in the Langdon series, Dan Brown sticks to the same storytelling formula as before: an ordinary, decent guy dropped into some international metropolis or historic city who, barely a few chapters in, suddenly gets swept up in a massive secret or global conspiracy. The police are usually either incompetent or corrupt, the line between good guys and bad guys keeps shifting, and the only things our hero can rely on are his wits—and a mysterious woman by his side. Of course, times hav...

3 stars—At a hefty 677 pages, Dan Brown’s latest, "The Secret of Secrets: A Robert Langdon Thriller", is a real commitment. I managed to finish it within the library's two-week loan period, but let's just say my family is thrilled my literary marathon is over. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Dan Brown. I've enjoyed several of his books, but the more I read, the more I've noticed he uses his platform to take potshots at Christianity at every opportunity. One plus with this one is th...

As a massive Dan Brown enthusiast, I was absolutely thrilled to discover a brand-new Robert Langdon adventure, "The Secret of Secrets: A Robert Langdon Thriller", had arrived. I devoured the audiobook in just three days, and honestly, I relished its length because I simply didn't want the experience to end. I was particularly drawn to the exploration of consciousness, a subject that utterly fascinates me. I even found myself Googling some of the concepts presented, and I must admit, I personally...

2.5 stars If you can manage to just experience it, to *not* overthink, you might enjoy 700 pages of film-like pacing, camera angles, and the exotic backdrop of Prague's skyline (the Charles Bridge dusted with falling snow). Here's a quick peek inside without spoiling anything!Katherine Solomon, a noetic scientist, is on the verge of publishing her groundbreaking findings with Penguin Random House. She's in Prague with a colleague, preparing for her highly anticipated public lecture. While Katheri...

This one was a little tough for me. I absolutely adore the Robert Langdon series, and since I just recently devoured the last few books, they're still very fresh in my mind. Starting with *The Secret of Secrets: A Robert Langdon Thriller*, the series theme shifted quite a bit, moving from history-heavy plots to more modern settings and technology. Is that a bad thing? I'm honestly not sure. Dan Brown clearly wants to keep his writing relevant, weaving in mentions of Chat-GTP and new science-driv...

I couldn’t bring myself to finish this one. It was utter garbage. The writing from Brown felt so immature, awkward, and just plain clumsy. His plots have become so repetitive and lazy, it's like he thinks throwing in ridiculous puzzles and random Wikipedia facts will somehow satisfy the reader. This is a truly awful book; easily the worst of the Robert Langdon series, and let's hope it’s the last. If you're looking for a good thriller, skip "The Secret of Secrets: A Robert Langdon Thriller" – it...

I'm fully expecting "The Secret of Secrets: A Robert Langdon Thriller" to be terrible, but I'm still going to read it. Let's see if Dan Brown can surprise me! Looking for a laugh, maybe this will be one of the funniest book reviews I ever write.

It's Robert Langdon. I'm so in.Dan Brown hasn't released a thriller since before Covid, but reading *The Secret of Secrets: A Robert Langdon Thriller*, it's obvious he's not going to reinvent the wheel as a writer. And honestly? That's perfectly fine because he's still as compulsively readable as ever. He's hitting all his greatest hits from the last 20 years – weirdly esoteric science, a killer with a seriously twisted personality (bordering on cultural appropriation, posing as the Golěm of old...
