**Many thanks to Berkley and Chanel Cleeton for an ARC of The Secret Legacy of Eva Fuentes provided via NetGalley!**
\"Books have that strangest quality, that being of the frailest and tenderest matter, they outlast brass, iron, and marble.\" - William Drummond
Three women...three stories...and a book they'd do ANYTHING to protect...In 2024, our present day timeline, Margot Reynolds has been given the arduous task of procuring a very special book, and one that is more than a CENTURY old. Not o...

4 stars for the mystery.
3 stars for the romance. I couldn't care less about Margo’s undying love for her ex-husband. 🙄 If you are looking for a book review of "The Secret Legacy of Eva Fuentes" by Chanel Cleeton, I'd say the mystery elements are well done. The romantic elements, however, didn't quite land for me.

4.25 stars. I absolutely loved Chanel Cleeton's latest novel, The Secret Legacy of Eva Fuentes. This story unfolds across three different timelines, and I was completely captivated by each narrative and the connections between them. It's a historical mystery with a beautiful romance woven throughout, and I was hooked from the very first page. I couldn't put it down! Highly recommend this if you're looking for a captivating historical fiction book review.

Mysterious, gripping, intriguing, and wonderfully written. *The Secret Legacy of Eva Fuentes* by Chanel Cleeton is a book that tells the story of a mysterious book and its connection to three women across three different timelines. Not only does this book jump between timelines, but it also takes place in a variety of locations. The three women are Margo Reynolds (2024/London), Pilar Castillo (1966/Havana), and Eva Fuentes (1990/Havana and Harvard, United States). I enjoyed how Chanel Cleeton wo...

Beautifully written, richly detailed, & steeped in history! This was a fascinating story to sit with, and I found myself both learning and reflecting as I read. The idea behind *The Secret Legacy of Eva Fuentes* is absolutely intriguing, with interconnected perspectives unfolding through history. Yet for some reason, it just didn’t grab my attention the way I thought it would. It was a slow burn, and in all due respect to Chanel Cleeton, I don’t usually do well with slower-moving stories that...

5 stars. In celebration of HISPANIC & LATINO HERITAGE MONTH, this entertaining little gem is a must-add to your reading list! Chanel Cleeton's latest novel, *The Secret Legacy of Eva Fuentes*, is quite the page-turner about a mysterious book that brings together three exceptional women: Eva Fuentes, Pilar Castillo, and Margo Reynolds.
Their life stories span from 1900 Boston (Eva, the writer of the book that affects everyone who reads it), to Havana in 1966 (Pilar, who risks everything to prote...

(4.25 stars)One of the things I love about historical fiction is the chance to learn something new while getting completely lost in a great story. Chanel Cleeton's latest book, The Secret Legacy of Eva Fuentes, does this beautifully. The book weaves together three interconnected timelines. In 2024 London, Margo is hired to track down a book written by Eva Fuentes, a book shrouded in mystery and unknown to almost everyone. Her anonymous employer communicates only through a representative. In 1966 ...

"There is something about books that brought people together, a passion, a devotion that created an intimate bond and understanding. After all, books spoke to the deepest parts of the soul and so they linked readers in unforgettable ways. Sharing a favorite book was like creating a shared history between people who had navigated the life and world that existed within the novel’s pages."Mark your calendars for September – you don't want to miss this one. There's just something about historical fi...

I wish things were different, but my reading life is off to a slow start this year. I didn’t get much reading done in January or February because of personal stuff, so now, heading into March, I’m trying to catch up with my TBR pile. Though, if I'm honest, it's not that I didn't read at all the past two months (because I'm always reading something), but more that I didn't feel like writing about it. Anyway, now that things are a bit more under control, I’m slowly but surely clearing out my ARC l...

Absolutely loved this story! Chanel Cleeton's "The Secret Legacy of Eva Fuentes" is a beautifully written and heartfelt novel, told across three timelines. In 1900s Cuba, Eva is a teacher presented with the chance to travel to Hartford University for the summer as part of a cultural exchange program. Eva has been trying to write a novel for years, and this opportunity could be life-changing.In 1966 Cuba, Pilar is a librarian living through the Castro era. Life is dangerous. After her husband is a...
