I feel like tearing out every single hair on my head, one by one, using nothing but my teeth after reading Stephen Chbosky's *The Perks of Being a Wallflower*. This book just hits you that hard. If you're looking for a coming-of-age story that's unflinchingly honest and emotionally raw, look no further than *The Perks of Being a Wallflower*. This Stephen Chbosky novel is a must-read, and a real contender for the best book review I'll write this year.

I honestly don't think I can properly express just how much I adored this book. Saying that it was completely life-altering is probably the closest I can get, and I'm incredibly annoyed with myself that it took me this long to finally read Stephen Chbosky's *The Perks of Being a Wallflower*. For anyone looking for impactful coming-of-age stories, this is a must-read!

Clueless. I am clueless. The popularity of this book baffles me even more than the popularity of *The Fault in Our Stars*. Maybe I really am just a coldhearted person with no feelings. Amazingly, I actually managed to start *The Perks of Being a Wallflower* knowing absolutely nothing about it. I've avoided all the reviews and hype over the years, I've purposely put off seeing the movie because I wanted to check out the book first. I knew nothing except that so many people LOVE this book. I was ...

February 25, 2013Dear Charlie,I'm writing to you because I feel like you're the only one who would truly listen right now. Out of all the friends I've made, you're the most understanding. I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you for being there for me these last couple of days. I didn't expect to learn so much from you. My mom always says you can never really understand someone until you walk in their shoes, but getting to know you and reading your story, *The Perks of Being a Wallflower* by ...

This book always hits me right in the feels. Third time re-reading "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" and I still feel infinite. Stephen Chbosky really knows how to write a coming-of-age story that sticks with you. If you're looking for emotional book reviews, definitely check this one out.

If you, like me, spend a lot of time on Tumblr, you'll know you can only scroll so far before you see something like this: Stephen Chbosky's epistolary novel, *The Perks of Being a Wallflower*, has a real cult following. The quotes from it are all over the internet, practically anthems given how passionately they're re-blogged, quoted, slapped across artfully light-leaked photographs, and "liked."A whole generation seems to have adopted *The Perks of Being a Wallflower*, and by extension its ...

I'm not sure there's another book out there that crams suicide, molestation, domestic abuse, homosexuality, drug use, mental health issues, first sexual experiences, rape, and abortion into so few pages without feeling like a bad TV movie, but Stephen Chbosky's *The Perks of Being a Wallflower* definitely doesn't pull it off. For me, the last straw was realizing that, on top of all that melodrama, the narrator seemed to be emotionally or mentally impaired. Charlie's inability to recognize any ...

Wallflower (noun)a shy or retiring person who remains unnoticed at social events, especially a woman without a dance partner I decided to read this book, Stephen Chbosky's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower", not just because there was a movie coming out soon. That was one of the reasons, but not the main one.I wanted to read it because the word "wallflower" caught my attention.I was a wallflower.I wasn't one of those kids people noticed immediately.I was one of those people who blended in so we...

DISCLAIMER:I really didn't like this book. I'm going to try and explain why in my own personal review space. I'm critiquing this book based on my own opinions, personal taste, experiences, perspective, and standards for literary work. It's entirely subjective, as I think all reviews inherently are.I mean no disrespect to those who enjoyed this book and found value in it. You're as entitled to your opinion, subjective reading experience, and standards as I am, and yours is just as valid. You also...

As much as people say it, *The Perks of Being a Wallflower* really is one of my favorite books of all time. MTV promoted it, it got a lot of press, and so many people shun it and say it is overrated. I disagree. This is a book worth reading, and definitely worth reviewing! I didn't read *The Perks of Being a Wallflower* until last year, when I turned 21. My boyfriend owned it, it seemed like a quick read, and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Main character Charlie is loveable from ...
