RATING BREAKDOWNCharacters: 4⭐️Setting: 5⭐️Plot: 5⭐️Themes: 5⭐️Emotional Impact: 4⭐️Personal Enjoyment: 5⭐️Total Rounded Average: 4.75⭐️Such an original technothriller! I love that the protagonists are my grandparents' age, and that we get a dual timeline, so some of *The Memory Thief* reads like historical fiction in dark academia, while the rest is present-day with terrifying technology. It was a brilliant setting with a fascinating technology focused on memory and time, and I felt totally imm...

Gosh, I REALLY liked this one. It reminded me of a contemporary and less dystopian version of the movie/show *Twelve Monkeys*—almost like a prequel—intersecting with the movie *Inception*. Anyone who knows my reading preferences has heard me complain about time travel books a lot. Most of them suck for me. *The Memory Thief* was great! No time machine, for one thing 🪅🎉 That's a big win right off the bat. Instead, all the drops into different timelines are done cerebrally. Two parallel and in...

Wow, I absolutely couldn't put this down! The premise of "The Memory Thief" is artfully teased out, and the characters are broadly painted with a touching love story at its heart (and you should know I'm not usually one for romance novels, so it's exceptionally well done). This Nicholas Binge book is truly engrossing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great book to read!

What on earth was that? I think I'm going to need a few more rereads to even begin to wrap my head around it all. When it comes to speculative fiction books, you just never know what you're going to get. Sometimes there's a great premise, but no follow-through. Sometimes the premise seems a bit average, but it turns out to be an amazing story. With The Memory Thief by Nicholas Binge, I feel like the author really went all out. The premise was super interesting to start with, and it just got craz...

Enjoyed the first 30%The Memory Thief by Nicholas Binge has a great premise, but the execution fell flat for me. The story became too monotonous, bogged down with overly detailed science (very complex!), chess playing descriptions, and exhaustive explanations of procedures. Maybe I just needed to focus more, and perhaps a Kindle copy would have worked better! Not entirely sure!Anyway, it was a real struggle to finish The Memory Thief, but I wanted to make sure I didn't miss some fantastic turnar...

“It hungers.” *The Memory Thief* can best be described as *The Matrix* meets *Inception*. It's the second sci-fi thriller I've devoured this month that boasts a compelling plot centered around time travel via memories. And let me tell you, Nicholas Binge's *The Memory Thief* absolutely delivers, especially the fantastic audiobook, brought to life by a full cast! Maggie Webb makes the heartbreaking decision to admit her 83-year-old husband, Stanley, to a care home after dementia steals the last...

WHOA! There simply aren’t enough words to describe the awesomeness within the pages of *The Memory Thief*. From the **thought-provoking themes** to the **realistic arch-villain**, this **speculative sci-fi thriller** was an out-and-out winner. After all, the **near-future setting** brought to life topics from today’s world that **should crystallize both fear and foreboding** for each and every reader. Through ideas such as **humanity, power, and love**, this **claustrophobic** novel made me fall...

Absolutely fabulous! I savored nearly every moment spent with Nicholas Binge's "The Memory Thief." This was one of those books I deliberately took my time with. While I was desperate to turn the page and discover what happened next, I also wanted to fully absorb and appreciate the novel's depth. In a nutshell, "The Memory Thief" follows Maggie as she embarks on a deeply personal and scientifically vital mission: to delve into her husband's Alzheimer's-afflicted mind, searching for a solution that...

(3.5) An elderly woman, Margaret, wakes up in a bizarre situation. She’s in an abandoned swimming pool, getting interrogated by a menacing yet oddly charismatic guy, Hassan, who’s desperate for her to recount the events of the last few days in perfect detail. Why? Because her husband, Stanley, apparently discovered something that could change the course of human history. And since Stanley now has Alzheimer’s, Hassan needs Margaret to literally enter his memories and retrieve whatever it was. Qui...

An amazing Science Fiction story.'Deep time humbles the human moment. What do the tens of thousands of years care for your plans?'When I was sent a copy of The Memory Thief to read and review, it brightened a bit of a tough day, and as it happened, it did the same for the next six days of reading. As with Nicholas Binge's previous book, Ascension, this is a speculative sci-fi thriller, and it ticks all the boxes for me. It has a depth that many books from the genre tend to lack. You could say it'...
