I wish I loved this book… alas, we don’t always get what we wish for. When I picked up Freida McFadden's *The Girl in the Storm*, I had such high hopes for a thrilling read, but unfortunately, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. As a seasoned reader of psychological thrillers, I'm always on the lookout for that next captivating book, and while *The Girl in the Storm* had potential, it just didn't fully deliver the suspense and intrigue I crave. So, while I can't wholeheartedly recommend it as t...

I honestly don't think I've ever been so torn about how to rate a book. Freida McFadden's "The Girl in the Storm" has left me completely conflicted. As a psychological thriller, it definitely kept me guessing, but wow, some of the twists were a bit out there! I'm still processing everything. It's the kind of book review where I want to say, 'Read it!', but also, 'Brace yourself!'

Freida, it's about quality, not quantity. I'm not thrilled; I'm just tired.

3.00!I'm still not sure how to rate this book 🧍 I'm torn between 2.5 and 3.5 stars, so three stars is just a placeholder for now, and the rating might change by the time I finish this review 😭 SPOILERS AHEAD!?!I honestly think I would've enjoyed "The Girl in the Storm" by Freida McFadden a lot more if I'd had different expectations going in. The narration style felt really different from Freida's other books, and honestly, I kind of liked the change! It was enjoyable. But this also made the th...

It wouldn’t be a Freida McFadden book if at least one character didn’t have some serious family drama or the brains of a peanut. Seriously, girl, what are we even doing here? Common sense is clearly on vacation.Because let me tell you, if some creepy girl covered in blood showed up on my doorstep, I sure as hell wouldn’t invite her INSIDE. I’d be locking doors, dialing 911, and planning my escape to another state. Casey, though? She’s all, “Come on in! Want some cookies?” Like it’s a damn bake s...

→ Possible spoilers ahead ↓ Okay, I’ll admit it, I gave up on "The Girl in the Storm" the first time I tried to read it. The opening chapters didn’t grab me; they were slow, repetitive, and honestly, a little boring. But when I picked "The Girl in the Storm" up again for a second try, I ended up finishing it in one sitting, so clearly it did get better. It was kind of like a rollercoaster: moments that completely pulled me in, followed by stretches that lost my attention again. I think my bigges...

This book was darkkkk and sad, definitely one of Freida McFadden's grimmer ones, but as always, it was fast-paced, addictive, and the perfect cure for a reading slump. 📚💥 Please check trigger warnings, as *The Girl in the Storm* can be distressing to many people 🫂. I...
