3.5 StarsI'd say this is one of Kendall McKenna's angstier books. She consistently delivers what I assume to be a realistic portrayal of military life, and she always nails it. Even though the story isn't set right in the middle of a combat zone, she still touches on the lasting impact of war on soldiers and how they deal with (or don't deal with) PTSD. Overall, fans of Kendall McKenna won't be disappointed by the palpable unrequited sexual tension between the two main characters, and the freque...

3.5 Stars!I was in the mood for something different when I picked this up. Military fiction isn't usually my thing, and honestly, I found **The Final Line** to be a little *too* focused on the military aspects. Could've used a bit more romance, in my opinion. That being said, I did enjoy the overall storyline and connected with the main characters. It just felt a bit too drawn out, though.Sean's character was great; I wish we'd gotten to see things from his perspective too. Corey got on my nerves ...

Kendall McKenna's *The Final Line* is a solid read, landing squarely in the 'enjoyable but not earth-shattering' category. It's the kind of book you devour on a rainy afternoon, perfectly content but not necessarily changed by the experience. McKenna's writing is competent, the plot moves at a decent clip, and the characters are...there. They exist. They fulfill their roles. But they don't exactly leap off the page and demand your emotional investment.
Think of it as comfort food. Yo...

M/M Bingo Round 8 - Week 5\"Want to Watch This on Screen\"********************I've put off reviewing The Final Line for weeks now. I’m just struggling to write this. Conflicted. And I realize I'm in the minority here when it comes to this one...The thing is, the subject matter of this book is important. It FEELS important. It has WEIGHT to it that is almost physical as you read this book. And honoring our military servicemen…heroes who come back with nightmares and flashbacks and who struggle th...

*** 4.25 Stars ***Ahhhh, a real emotional connection between two grown-ass adults, and the author didn't screw it up with pointless drama or stupid plot twists near the end. Thank freakin' goodness. And while everyone knows I'm a sucker for a man in uniform, the sexiest thing about "The Final Line" was how well the main characters communicated. Seriously hot. I also got really turned on by the fact that even though Corey didn't always *want* to ask for help, he always tried to accept it when it ...

So many fantastic reviews are already out there for Kendall McKenna's *The Final Line*, and honestly, it's hard not to echo what everyone else is saying. But here goes!
I was completely hooked on Jonah and Kellan from the earlier books, and while I was seriously excited to dive back into their world, *The Final Line* went above and beyond. Seriously, it might even be better than the first two!
Once again, the military details are spot-on. From the plot to the characters and even the jargon – K...

Okay, I just gotta start by saying, I *love* this author. No joke. Kendall McKenna is amazing with military stories, period.
Now that's out of the way, let's talk about "The Final Line". Where do I even start? It's the final book in the series… sad face, I know. I’m practically in tears. I completely fell for these characters, and Corey just broke my heart in this one. I honestly didn't expect to love "The Final Line" as much as the other two books; Kellan and Jonah are just… hot, and everythin...

This story was absolutely amazing! I know I've said it before in my reviews of Kendall McKenna's other books, but she does such a fabulous job delivering an authentic military feel. I love that her books are jargon-heavy and we learn a lot about how the military works, but it never feels like an infodump. I really enjoyed Kellan and Jonah from the previous two books, but "The Final Line" is my favorite of the series so far. If you're looking for great military romance books, check out Kendall Mc...

Re-read August, 2024: There is no denying that this is my GOAT.Re-read November, 2015: Thanksgiving comfort read. Fucking LOVE this book! READ IT people! If I could give this book 6 stars, I most certainly would!
August 2013 edit: Even though it hasn't even been a month yet, I re-read this again this weekend. Loved it even more! The ending is what stuck out to me this time. It was so incredibly perfect. While I would gobble up a sequel if one were written, I don't think I'd be disappointed if one...

Oh yes, plenty of hot kissing....This is another terrific read from Kendall McKenna. I was looking forward to Corey Yarwood's book from snippets of a young corporal in Brothers in Arms through to the Staff Sergeant he is now, training new Recon Marines at Camp Pendleton. This book is full of things I like -Military men. Correct military jargon, when it is required.Seeing snippets of Jonah and Kellen again, just the right amount - my love of them still holds strong.A great plot - the death of a gi...
