James Rollins is a brilliant writer. His books pull you into adventurous and historical events, a blend of fact and fiction, that makes you feel like you're right there, side by side with Monk, Kat, Painter Crowe, Gray, and the Sigma Force facing off against the Guild villains. I particularly loved The Devil Colony (Sigma Force, #7) because it focuses on America's founders (the Founding Fathers) and the history of the growing claims of the United States: the Louisiana Purchase, the Indian tribes...

Okay, chew on this: 14 arrows bundled together, nanotubes, Native Americans, Lewis & Clark, Sigma Force, Thomas Jefferson, 5 dudes chilling in a painting who definitely shouldn't be there, Ben Franklin, a buffalo hide, Jewish settlers, and Mormons. What the heck are you supposed to DO with all that? Seriously! Well, that's exactly what James Rollins throws into The Devil Colony (Sigma Force, #7), and then some. If you want to hear him break it all down himself, head to the archives of The G-ZONE...

James Rollins' Sigma Force #7, The Devil Colony, is a wild thrill ride that dives deep into Native American and Colonial history. We're talking nanotechnology, the real story behind the Declaration of Independence signatories, volcanoes, and the shadowy secrets of the people pulling the strings at The Guild. I absolutely devoured this book, even though I'll admit a solid 10% flew right over my head! I'm sure if I took my time and really zeroed in on every single word, meaning, and implication, I...

The mysteries and thrills in "The Devil Colony"... involving the founding of America, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Native American tribes, the Book of Mormon, and even nanotechnology – all these plot elements fit seamlessly into the Sigma Force narrative that James Rollins' fans have grown to love and anticipate. There's a considerable cast of supporting characters, and it takes a little while to understand their roles and importance in the grand scheme of things. Overall, I'd call it a highl...

Real Rating: 3.75* out of five starsON SALE TODAY OCTOBER 5, 2021, FOR $1.99 ON KINDLE! I read this back in 2014 when I was hanging out in the goofy garage. My amazing friends supported my reading habit and never once questioned (at least, not to my face—who knows what they said behind my back!) why I kept asking for James Rollins's books. The reason I wanted to read them is simple: they're super entertaining. There's just enough plot and character development to keep me from focusing on the fact...

In this 7th 'Sigma Force' novel, The Devil Colony by James Rollins, the fate of the entire world is at stake. Good news: the book can be read as a standalone.
*****
The premise of this thriller is that, in the very distant past, American Indians buried some kind of nanotechnology-fueled doomsday devices around the Earth in an attempt to save mankind from their destructive power.
In the present day, a couple of anthropologists innocently unearth one of these devices, setting off a chain reac...

I read this book a couple of years ago and it's brilliant – easily my favorite in the series. By the way, the Sigma Force series by James Rollins is awesome! Seriously, read "The Devil Colony"! If you're looking for a thrilling book review, look no further.

Right from the start of this review, I need to be upfront about a couple of things:
1. The PR department at Harper Collins reached out to me, asking if I'd be willing to receive a free copy of **The Devil Colony** and review it. I'm guessing they contacted me (along with other Mormon writers/bloggers) because the book touches on Mormon themes and history. I said yes, with no strings attached.
2. There was no agreement that I'd have to give the book a glowing review. What follows is my honest...

Not my usual kind of book, but I took a chance because Lee Child recommended it. Wow! I'm blown away by the numerous subplots, the many historical perspectives, the range of characters, and how James Rollins manages to juggle it all while keeping the story moving at warp speed. And his characters have so much more depth than you usually find in these big-name thrillers. Seriously, I need to take notes. But I was too busy enjoying an awesome story the first time around. I definitely need to read ...

The Devil Colony: Where Ancient Secrets Meet Modern ThrillsLet me tell you about a book that kept me up way too late for three nights straight. It's James Rollins' The Devil Colony, and trust me, this isn't your average thriller.Think of it as National Treasure meets Mission: Impossible, but with actual science that doesn't make you roll your eyes. The best part? It's set right here in the U.S., where Rollins' elite Sigma team finds themselves tangled in a mystery that stretches back to America'...
