As exciting as ever. Graeme Rodaughan excels in keeping readers on the edge of their seats, balancing plot twists and character development from the very first page. I’m pleased to report that the stakes just keep escalating with no end in sight, and that is exactly what you want in a gripping fantasy novel. In The Day Guard, we see the introduction of several new storylines that expand the lore and world-building of the series even further. Anton Slayne continues to fight for his beliefs and t...

The Day Guard is the fourth installment in The Metaframe War series by Graeme Rodaughan, and it acts as a perfect bridge into the second story arc. Still reeling from the fallout of previous events, the Order of Thoth, the Vampire Dominion, and the Red Empire are scrambling to position their forces, each desperate to control the very fabric of reality. But there’s a catch: a new faction has entered the game—a group long thought extinct, if they were remembered at all. This book was a blend of e...

This book was a lot of fun. It wasn’t quite as action-packed as the previous installment, Dragon’s Den, but it had plenty of guts and glory. I would say The Day Guard had more of a political bent with all of the various factions going through some internal chaos and changes. The story continues very nicely with some major reveals and adds some new, and substantial wrinkles. ***Edit after third read***The characters get much deeper in this, the fourth book of the Metaframe series by Graeme Rodaug...

My fourth time diving into The Day Guard and it picked me up and dropped me right back into the middle of the Metaframe War!A bit of backstory:The vampires led by Cornelius Crane and his general, Chloe Armitage, are back alongside the Mirovar Force team in this gripping fourth installment of the Metaframe War series. There is a massive amount of suspense and intrigue here as Cornelius and Chloe have lost the trust they once shared. Things have been set in motion that simply can't be undone. Corn...

I would like to thank the author, Graeme Rodaughan, for providing me with an ARC of The Day Guard. Also, thanks to another buddy read with my fellow vampire-loving crew at Castle Dracula. The Day Guard is the 4th book in Graeme Rodaughan's The Metaframe War series. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite ongoing book series. Graeme continues to build upon the previous entries, adding new elements that make the story hard to predict and even harder to put down. As with the previous books, The...

Welcome to The Day Guard by Graeme Rodaughan, the fourth installment in the Metaframe War series. Whatever you thought was going to happen, think again! Cornelius Crane is back in the spotlight. No longer blinded by his own ego, Crane is gathering forces, trusting absolutely no one, and making calculated moves. Chloe Armitage, my personal favorite vampire, has been caught off guard by this new version of Crane. But Chloe has a mind as flexible and dangerous as her body, and she knows that setbac...

A huge thank you to the Castle Dracula group and especially to author Graeme Rodaughan for setting this up and providing ARC copies. The entire group was absolutely awesome! The Day Guard picks up right where book three left off. We see the return of char...

Author Imbroglio! Characters Make Impossible Demands on Hen-Pecked Scribe! "Well, what could I do? - It was a real doozy of a night!" - The Scribbling ScrivenerA Doozy of a Night. It was a peaceful evening at home, and I was staying up late working on The Day Guard, the 4th book in my series about the Metaframe War. In between writing the usual stuff about Chloe’s quest for her liberty, Anton’s search for justice, and the various machinations of Cornelius, the Red Ghost, and the Raven - my phone ...
